2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear mahogany color with a finger of fluffy off white head and good lacing. Aroma is a bit sweet with musty fruit and bready grain. Taste is husky grain and slight burnt molasses with some fruit and banana. Hint of clove and astringency. Mouthfeel is watery and fizzy with medium/high carbonation. Malt forward with very little Belgian character. Not a particularly good example of the style.

Terrible. I hate the style too. Thick heavy basement earth malty taste. Fruits. Tropical but not a happy tropical. Just an unpleasant beer

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Aroma is malts, slightly dull dark fruit and a hint of astringency. The flavor is dark fruit, malts and a really off twang/chemical finish.

Meh. Picked up a bottle at Randall's in St. Louis. Very sweet. Some caramel. A bit too thin. Drinkable.

Bottle. Aroma of yeast and orange zest. Tastes of malts, hops and yeast, sort of watered down. Has a slight yeasty aftertaste. Too watery for my tastes. 6.5% alcohol.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle @ home courtesy of jcnielsen. Thanks Jetson! Pours a hazy brownish orange appearance with a light brown head. Quite spicy yeasty, nutmeg, cinnamon, Kit Kat, chocolate, a bit fruity aroma. Big banana, nutty, rich caramel, somewhat herbal bitter, quite fruity flavor. Not my kind of Dubbel.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
The appearance of this beer is a deep auburn with the smallest off-white ring resting on top of the beer, but the aroma smells like roasted malts, caramel, and figs despite its subtlety. The taste is slightly sour, mildly sweet, and a touch umami, and the palate combines a medium body, thick texture, soft carbonation, and an abrupt finish.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle. Pours a reddish brown color with off white head. Toffee, malty sweet aromas. Toffee, bready, slight belgian flavor. Very light bodied, very little flavor going on. Pretty poor excuse for a dubbel.
