This traditional White Ale is faithful to the Belgian style with its light body, cloudy color and touch of spice. A complex, refreshing ale that’s perfect for any season.

Draft at Blueberry Hill. Pours a hazy orange color with a small, resilient, creamy eggshell white head. Aroma of orange citrus, honey, pepper, coriander, sweet malts, and wheat. Flavor of orange citrus, bready malts, wheat, honey, and pepper. Medium-bodied, with a bready mouthfeel and soft, gentle carbonation. Really smooth, creamy, and easy to drink. This is an excellent Belgian white, and it sure hits the spot.

22oz. bottle, contract brewed at Weston Brewing Co. Spicy, sweet aroma, full of coriander and citrus, with lighter notes of orange, clove, wheat malt, doughy yeast, honey and faint must. Thoroughly solid medium golden orange in color with a lasting, fine head and sparse lacing. Flavor is likewise citric and spicy, only lightly malty, with a certain tartness detected early and light-moderate bitterness, finishing sharply and fairly clean with a gentle yeast bite. A faint herbal flavor appears late. Thin and lightly acidic on the palate with a low-moderate amount of carbonation and a light body. Nice and refreshing on a warm day such as today.

Bought this on a whim as duder at the store said it was brand new, seemed to be a good value, why the hell not? I do not believe that this is 9%, I feel like that must be a typo or something but if that’s true it masks the alcohol incredibly well and I will be shit canned in short order. Aside from that, it seems to be a basic but very decent American wit interpretation. Many American brews in this style are either too bland or too citrusy, and this is neither. Its best quality is it is fairly true to the European style, although it comes off as a kind of hybrid hefeweizen/wit deal. The more I drink it the more I like it. Well-executed; unspectacular but legit. My rating is based on the assumption that this is not actually 9%. In the event that it truly is, the rating would be somewhat higher.

Draught at Sycamore. Lemon. Wheat. Yeast plays a role. Decent body for the style. Some unintended - or I think unintended - funkiness at the end. Overall, not bad.

Tasted 3/10/10. 22oz bomber. First pour is hazy with an orange honey hue. Swirling white head. Aromas of oranges and chalky perfume. Touch honey and white pepper. Corriander and an underlying tea-like note. Medium bodied and very true to style. Good effervescence and carbonation. Bright and fresh. Good orange and citrus note. Modest spice flavors. Lingering sticky finish. Solid interpretation. Good body and a solid palate. Well done.

Pour is a cloudy and a bit dirty gold with a small white head and very active carbonation. That head never faded a bit. Aroma is tart citrus fruit such as lemon along with wheat. Flavor is subdued. Orange arrives first. A bit of banana and some grain. Feel is soft in the mouth and lightly creamy. ABV is no higher than 5% which is a plus for me. Quite refreshing. Nothing to not like just not quite enough flavor to rave about.

Pour is a murky looking orange with a small white head. Aroma is great. Lots of grain, corriander and a nice helping of clove. Flavor is also decent but less pronounced. A heavy malt hits you at first then some spice and corriander. A decent easy drinking wit. Also I think that the 9% alcohol is incorrect. If I’m not then its no where to be seen.
