1 pt., 9 fl. oz bottle. Pours the color of motor oil with a 1 ½ inch creamy head. Thick mouthfeel. Heavy whisky aroma with a hint of cherry. Very forward oak and whisky flavors with the perfect amount of hop bite in the finish. Despite the strong flavors and hop bitterness, the beer is creamy and finishes smooth, which would make it very easy for me to polish off a 22 oz. without noticing!

50cl bottle pours a watery brown with some very frothy, brown head. Nose has some malt, cinnamon, spice, a little raisin. Flavor is malty, cracker, raisin, chile, bread, molasses. Full, peppery finish.

Dark brown with a tan head. It has a strong bourbon aroma with some dark chocolate. The medium body has a silky texture with average carbonation. The taste is roasted and moderately bitter with a dry finish.

22 oz. bottle shared by phaleslu. Pours black in color with a medium sized khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have dark chocolate, roasted malts, dark fruits that become a bit tart at times, whiskey barrel notes, wood. This one came off a touch thin for me also. The alcohol remained pretty well hidden.

Bottle shared by phaleslu. Dark brown color, good thin brown head. Little ropes of lace. Roast malts on the nose. Smooth, soft moderate strength carbonation. Good dark chocolate, moderate roast, light coffee aroma. Big bitter taste, minimal sweet. Very light hint of alcohol bite. Very solid stuff. Good complexity, nice long aftertaste to savor.

22 oz. bottle from The Wine and Cheese Place. Pours a deep brown color with a tan head. Notes of whiskey, chocolate, caramel, toast, brown sugar, oak, coconut, and faint dried dark fruits; figs or dates, maybe. Flavor works a bit better than the aroma. Medium-bodied, with a sweet, coating mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Might have sat on this one just a wee bit too long, but otherwise a nice barrel treatment.

This was from Strykzone. This is I assume the regular Holy Moly but aged. Good as Holy Moly is this is much better. It poured dark brown with a big tan head. Lots of lacing. Nose is roasted chocolate malts and whiskey. Medium plus in body. Smooth alcohol with some alcohol showing. Flavor is very intense. This is really flavorful. The bitter finish and the whiskey go perfectly together. Delicious.

Bottle picked up at Goebel. Pours near black with a leafy brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of bitter dark grains with strong backing whiskey and dark fruits. Flavor strong whiskey throughout that slightly overpowers the dark grains, bitter chocolate and dark fruits.

The aroma of this brew is quite simple with the hints of toasted malts and booze, which is actually quite appealing because of the simplicity, and the appearance combines an opaque black color with a small tan head. The taste is mildly umami, slightly sweet, and slightly bitter, and the palate combines a medium body, slick texture, long light finish, and a soft carbonation.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of jcnielsen. Thanks. Pours a dark brown head with a huge, bubbly, cola-like brown head. Caramel, toffee, moderate whiskey, woody, vanilla aroma. Fairly roasty, light anise, a touch smoky, whiskey, toffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, grainy woody flavor. Carbonation is overdone for sure. Better than I was expecting but nothing too great.
