Sampled on tap at the 2nd annual Urban Chestnut Wolpertinger party in a dimple mug. It poured an opaque, nearly black colour with fluffy beige foam and lace. True-to-style stout aromas and flavors: malty, bready, toasty, roasty, fruity, caramelly, low hops. Elevated alcohol, warming but not harsh. Medium-heavy body, lower than average carbonation, lingering tart and toasty aftertaste. Good, not great.

22 oz. bottle via phaleslu. Pours dark brown in color with a medium plus sized dense khaki head. The aroma is roasted malts, dark chocolate, anise, herbal hops with a hint of char. The flavor has roasted malts, dark chocolate, anise, char, dark caramel herbal and earthy hops. Perhaps a hint of espresso.

Bomber from Secret Santa jmagnus - thanks, dude! Wow, drinks pretty light for 10%. Hefty body, with LOTS of carbonation. Chocolate, mild tartness, and hints of anise in the nose. Rich and chocolatey flavors, with healthy amounts of roasted malts, and maintaining the anise/tartness intersection. Solid RIS.

Bomber. Pours black with a medium-sized tan head. Aroma and flavor of highly roasted, almost bitter malt, touches of coffee, licorice, chocolate. A little bit of alcohol bite. Medium to thick body. Best thing I’ve had from this brewer.

22oz bottle courtesy of jaminjohnson. thanks, ben! pours a dark, cola-brown capped by a thick, fizzy, khaki head that leaves light rings of lace. aroma is damn nice with notes of dark chocolate, cake batter, roasted coffee, and toffee backed by herbal hops, smoke, and light anise. flavor is delicious with big, roasted malts, wheat toast, dark chocolate, and espresso backed by caramel candies, licorice, and piney, herbal hops. palate is medium bodied with heavy carbonation and an intense, lingering roasted finish. overall, a damn nice imperial stout.

Bomber from Wind and Cheese in Clayton. Pours a dark brown... Fairly thick, but maybe a little thin for style. Head is fairly large and fizzy at first, but it dies to a nice lacing in the sides of the glass and a quarter inch of dense tan foam. Aromas are a little bit faint... but foreshadow roasty malt with a decent amount of chocolate to it and a little smokey peat. First sip reveals that this is a very astringent take on the style... Lots of bitter dark malt hits heavy right as beer meets palate. A little bit of a cola like mid palate development yields back to a bitter dark malt finish. This is an adequate Imperial Stout, but it misses being a complete and full complex take on the style.

It poured a brownish color with a light tan head. The aroma was of chocolate, some coffee and a little burnt malt. The taste was similar with a medium body and a touch of bitterness. A decent Imperial Stout.

22oz. bottle, ~6 months old. Aroma of dark chocolate, mild roast, some coffeeish tones and very mild dark fruit in the background. Solid black in color with a fine, uneven light tan head and respectable lacing. Flavor is comprised of sweet, toffeeish, chocolate malts up front, fruity yeast and mildly bitter hops about midpoint and a roasty, somewhat drying, almost burnt finish. Some alcohol character detected late. Unusually thin, slightly watery feel on the palate, although it features sufficient carbonation and a full body. The best offering from this brewer as of yet.
