Sampled on tap at the 2nd annual Urban Chestnut Wolpertinger party in a dimple mug. It poured an opaque, nearly black colour with fluffy beige foam and lace. True-to-style stout aromas and flavors: malty, bready, toasty, roasty, fruity, caramelly, low hops. Elevated alcohol, warming but not harsh. Medium-heavy body, lower than average carbonation, lingering tart and toasty aftertaste. Good, not great.

Pours black with almost 3 fingers of dark tan head. Aroma is strongly milk chocolate with a little bit of caramel and some sprucy hops. Taste is medium bitter. Lots of dark coffee with chocolate and spruce. Medium bodied with a somewhat oily yet thick texture. Lively carbonation and a very long, very bitter finish. Overall, Iím really digging this beer. Probably the best beer offered from Cathedral Square.

Bottle to goblet Loads of milk, rancid milk, diacetal. I canít imagine that this is supposed to be like this. Black...tan head. Disgusting curdled milk, some coffee/chocolate.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours black with a tan head. Taste roasted malt, dark chocolate, vanilla. I thought this was good. I would drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I think this is the one Chris form beer temple was dissing in his episode. I think it is really nice, not too spicy, richly integrated stout flavors. Donít hate on this cause its not abraxas.

Bottle and served in snifter: Pours a deep brown with an initial nice frothy tan head and spotty lace. Solid roast, char, cocoa, coffee, moderate pine, slight fig and tobacco along with a touch of Diacetyl (but not troublesome at least for me). Shorter finish than expected and not overly complicated. Ashy prickly mouth feel. Still it is more than drinkable... A Kia in an Aston Martin world.

This stout is well rounded and full bodied. It has a good flavor that will definitely convert you to the dark side.

Dark pour with an immense head leaving lots of tiny bubbles of lacing. Fades somewhat quicker than I anticipated. Classic impy aroma of roast, dark chocolate, and coffee. Lots of dark chocolate and burnt roast in the flavor. Unfortunately, it also disappears rather fast, especially for an impy. Only a little bitterness lingers on the tongue after about a minute. A Russian Imperial for beginners. With so many great impy stouts out there, this decent brew just canít hold up to the upper tier.

Pours a deep black with a creamy lacing tan head. Aroma of whiskey, vanilla, oak and chocolate. Flavor of oak, vanilla, dark fruits, nuts and bourbon.
