Brewed in the Russian Imperial Stout style, this offering boasts plenty of malt character and an aggressive amount of hops. A rich, flavorful ale with a finish you wonít believe.

Sampled on tap at the 2nd annual Urban Chestnut Wolpertinger party in a dimple mug. It poured an opaque, nearly black colour with fluffy beige foam and lace. True-to-style stout aromas and flavors: malty, bready, toasty, roasty, fruity, caramelly, low hops. Elevated alcohol, warming but not harsh. Medium-heavy body, lower than average carbonation, lingering tart and toasty aftertaste. Good, not great.

Hopefully this was a bad bottle from the brewery. Doing a beer tasting at a friends and all 4 glasses just bubbled - foamed out of control. To make matters worse it tasted so bad that all 4 of us dumped it down the drain. All 7 or 8 other beers we had were just fine.

I donít know what to think when I see the other reviews because the aroma and taste I get from this beer is buttered popcorn. I understand that this could be from Diacetyl. But I absolutely loved this beer with this flavor. Mouthfeel is spot on as well.

Bottle thanks to Beerman6686. Pours very dark brown/almost black with tan head. Nose and taste of burnt chocolate, smoke, burnt coffee, ashy chocolate and vanilla. Medium body. Not the best imperial stout Iíve had but it works for some reason.

Aroma is earthy malts, mild chocolate and vegetables/spices. The flavor is dark malts, spices/vegetables, mild heat and and tangy/alcoholic finish.

Not all that good. Way too over carbed. Lots of nice roastiness but too bitter. Far too champaign with the mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pretty sweet...not a thick body but a medium body with very sweet, almost tart notes throughout. Malty sweetness. Not much roast to the malt. Aftertaste is like an artificial sweetener. Boozy but not too much. O.K. all around. Something about Weston Brewery beers just really turns me off...

Dark mahogany pour with a solid latte head. Nose of cocoa, bakerís chocolate, roasted malt, and brownie batter. Nestle Quik, sweetened chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and molasses in flavor. The sweetness is a bit much. Was initially surprised by this brew but it becomes cloying relatively quickly.

This was courtesy of Strykzone. Thanks Dave. Pours a dark brown with a robust foamy tan head. Nose of burnt malts and chocolate. Medium plus body. Smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is rich chocolate malts and the finish is rich and bitter. Quite tasty,.

Pours deep brown, no head. Nose is caramel, salt, beef broth, olives. Slight smoke, rather liquid smoky. There is some resinous hops. Flavor is sweet and bitter at the same time. Strangely watery mouthfeel for such a big beer. Meh.

Bottle. Pours a black color with tan head. Roasty, chocolate, oak aromas. Burnt, roasty, chocolate flavors. Iíve never been a fan of Cathedral Square, but I was quite surprised by how good this one was.
