One of St. louis best local imperial stouts. Thick and creamy, roasted flavors but not smokey, and a good alcoholic bite. Great price.

Bottle and served in snifter: Pours a deep brown with an initial nice frothy tan head and spotty lace. Solid roast, char, cocoa, coffee, moderate pine, slight fig and tobacco along with a touch of Diacetyl (but not troublesome at least for me). Shorter finish than expected and not overly complicated. Ashy prickly mouth feel. Still it is more than drinkable... A Kia in an Aston Martin world.

This stout is well rounded and full bodied. It has a good flavor that will definitely convert you to the dark side.

Dark pour with an immense head leaving lots of tiny bubbles of lacing. Fades somewhat quicker than I anticipated. Classic impy aroma of roast, dark chocolate, and coffee. Lots of dark chocolate and burnt roast in the flavor. Unfortunately, it also disappears rather fast, especially for an impy. Only a little bitterness lingers on the tongue after about a minute. A Russian Imperial for beginners. With so many great impy stouts out there, this decent brew just can’t hold up to the upper tier.

Pours a deep black with a creamy lacing tan head. Aroma of whiskey, vanilla, oak and chocolate. Flavor of oak, vanilla, dark fruits, nuts and bourbon.

Bomber from Wine and Cheese in St. Louis. Pours nearly black with a thick caramel head. Aroma is fairly bland actually. Mostly just alcohol. Full mouth feel with the taste of malt and dark chocolate. Has a surprising sweetness on the back end I didn’t expect. Previously had it on tap at the Lupulin Festival. Pretty good stuff.

I have had this beer several times before, but this is the first time I have had it on tap. Great roasty/sweet scent, jet black with very small amount of foam, bourbon sweetness and slight hop bitterness in the flavor, good oily palate. Give this beer a try. In the hard to get noticed world of Imperial Stouts, this one has carved out an interesting niche.

Hopefully this was a bad bottle from the brewery. Doing a beer tasting at a friends and all 4 glasses just bubbled - foamed out of control. To make matters worse it tasted so bad that all 4 of us dumped it down the drain. All 7 or 8 other beers we had were just fine.

I don’t know what to think when I see the other reviews because the aroma and taste I get from this beer is buttered popcorn. I understand that this could be from Diacetyl. But I absolutely loved this beer with this flavor. Mouthfeel is spot on as well.

Bottle thanks to Beerman6686. Pours very dark brown/almost black with tan head. Nose and taste of burnt chocolate, smoke, burnt coffee, ashy chocolate and vanilla. Medium body. Not the best imperial stout I’ve had but it works for some reason.

Aroma is earthy malts, mild chocolate and vegetables/spices. The flavor is dark malts, spices/vegetables, mild heat and and tangy/alcoholic finish.
