Cask-conditioned at the Hobgoblin, Reading 8/11/09. Amber in colour with an off-white head. Malty, sweet aroma of damsons and caramel. Easy drinking, with flavours of toffee, red fruit and dough, before a moderately bitter finish. Ok.

Cask at the Pembury Tavern, London UK on 5th June 2009. Mixed feelings on this copper coloured ale. Initially hard to engage with the beer flavourwise as vinous and metallic notes were both prevailing. The "kick" disappointed me on this one with notes of acidity and metallic tastes continuing, however with time a smoky dry finish developed through the latter stages which was pleasant enough for me to uprate from a nine to a twelve out of twenty. Welcoming more opinions on this beer - maybe the cask was miskept. There was very little head and it disappeared to zero halfway down the glass, whilst the beer went completely flat within 15 minutes or so of being poured (at which time it was initially quite sparkling).

Cask conditioned gravity dispense Northants BF. A mid brown coloured beer with an odd aroma of grass and farts mixed with cereals and malts It’s pretty much the same about in the mouth. Husky.
