4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330ml bottle, thanks to JefVerstraete. Pours amber with big frothy white head. Nice sweet / spicy aroma. Taste is brett-tastic, lots of funk and spice before settling into sweet triple territory. Very enjoyable this.

Bottle. Golden color, foamy head. Aroma of barnyard and brett. Fresh taste of brett, horseblanket, sour, grain, apple and old hop. Nice mildly burning tart finish. Bit like orval light, good beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
(Caulier 28 Brett) Bottle 330 ml, served into a tulip. ABV 7.5%
Bright copper orange colour on the body, tall and thick off-white head on top, with great retention, leaving medium lacing on the glass.
Nice, vinous aroma, with sour white grapes, funky character.
Mildly sour and acidic taste at first, turns quickly to a light sweet one. White grapes, some apples, sugar.
Medium thin body, good carbonation, dry and not as tart as I expected on the palate.
Nothing extreme as sourness is concerned and if you expect lots of it, you’d be disappointed, but it’s a very drinkable and refreshing beer nevertheless.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
7th Feb 2015 at the Brugge Beer Festival. Amber bodied brew with a thin topping. Brett means Brett, not sour: right? Well this was semi-sour and I didn’t take to it at all. Dark fruits and a malty underbelly couldn’t turn it around for my senses: a wrong choice when there were so many fabulous beers around.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
15cl at the Ghent Beer Festival in 2014. I didn’t really like this sour ale, for it wasn’t sour enough to stand out. The aroma is not bad at all. But on tongue, the ale has a somehow bitter feeling, and I am not really fond on the finish.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle sample@BBF ’15, ZA. Wild tartness of Marillengeist in the nose, complemented in taste by canned peach sirup, dried caramel, Chinese plum wine. Dry, flat, quite thin yet yeasty. Maybe gets wilder and fuller with age? To be revisited from bottles aging now.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: FEB 28, 2015 15cl taster at Brugs Bierfestival. Cloud darm orange colour, hazy, off-white creamy head. Nicely malted ale that carries the slightly sour and earthy brett tones very well. Good body, medium carbonation. Refreshing.
