Shared by HogTownHarry with Blankboy and I. Appearance: Cloudy orange with zero head. Aroma: Meade like - honey, alcohol, pepper and toffee, alcohol, lots of honey in there. Flavour: Yes, a meade, a meade mixed with cheap sake (Harry), bitter, alcoholic, grainy, honey again. Gosh, so alcoholic. My face is warming.

Bottle ( 330ml - swing-top ). Shared with blankboy and garthicus, via trade with glouglouburp. Hazy gold with minimal frothy head. Smells like a mild, herbal mead, or a light sake - "green" and sweet, fairly boozy. Taste - honey, celery and vodka - again, like a cheap sake. Slick, astringent, boozy, fairly flat mouthfeel - leaves a sticky, herbal boozy aftertaste - pretty challenging and a bit harsh.

3rd July 2008. Cloudy dark amber beer. Unusual. Sweet with nice fruit tones. Dry sweet creamy malt finish. Very flavoursome and a little of the beaten track.

Botella. Pours a hazy brown colour, medium short lasting off-white head. Sweet, grainy, malty, yeasty and caramel aroma. Ok mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet and malty with grains, yeast, alcohol and light spice. Bit too old this brew.

swingtop bottle, at the end of it’s shelf life. almost clear golden, small offwhite head. slight sour aroma, spicy, strong. flavor is spicy, fruity, boozy, citrussy, old beer. this bottle was best before about the same time that we sampled it, and it had distinct flavors due to old beer, so don’t keep it. better fresh.

Bottle. Malt, honey, flowers and yeast in aroma. Explosive better suited for a New Years brew than Christmas. Unclear yellow colour with huge white head. Sweet flavour of caramel, honey and malt. discrete bitterness in aftertaste.

From the other kp in GA. The pop on this bottle is ferocious. It pours with a vigorous head but it fades fast into just a decent head, just bubbly (not foamy). The color is a thick golden with some clarity. Aroma is weird, it’s a mix of beautiful floral yeasitness with a honey and spoiled milk/vomit... yeah like I said, weird. On the bright side it is a sweet, faintly chocolate, nice type of spoiled milk/vomit. Taste is lower on that weird aspect, just an ester and sweet brew. It seems there is a honey gone awry aspect here. Makes it a bit too sweet and a bit too, well, honey, espesically with all the esters. Its fine, yet over-the-top. A lightly thicker feel but enough carbonation to offset it. A long sweet, honey-ish, and cocoa aftertaste. Its rough around the edges, but for a light colored beer I feel this could age a little bit. There is a bit of alcohol heft to it. Later pours give it a much larger head and a thicker, dirtier color.
33cl, flip top bottle, dated BB D/2009, Bell’s tulip glass.
