Hazy golden body under a low, white head. Aroma of dry white wine with a spicy touch. Spiced taste containing late, sweet banana and acid fruits, with underlying candy sweetness. Foamy-alcoholic on the swallow. Short tail, though. Alright, but much of the flavours are pushed into the background by a prominent element of alcohol. [Tromsø, New Years Day 2009]. (Rating #1871) Storm (2685), Amager, Denmark

Aroma of yeast, spice and caramel. Nice sweet flavour of biscuit, spice, malt and ends up with a nice warm feeling from the alcohol. Jeppe (2638), Ølbutikken, Denmark
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Feb 20, 2005 Pours cloudy milky orange with a fine disappearing white head. Full and sharp aroma, citrusy with hints of lactic acid. Very heavy flavor. Lots of fruit, oranges and citrus with sharp herby notes and a warming tone of alcohol. Unbalanced and not a beer for me to enjoy. Nate (2575), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Dec 19, 2004 Grassy, herbal nose, with some butter and toffee. Fruity ester and vapory alcohol. Farmhouse. Hazy butterscotch in color, with thin off-white lacing head. Heavy watery body with light carbonation, almost syrupy. Starts sweet and syrupy, malt and heavy fruity notes. Light acidic hops. Overly sugared, and big alcohol hit. Herbal and grassy, some spices. Has some positive elements, but mostly it’s too thick and sweet for the blond style. kmweaver (2502), Sebastopol, California, USA

Pours a slightly hazy, golden color with fine particulates; white head with fine-bubbled lacing. Lots of intricate honey, yeastiness, and Belgian sugars in the aroma; intense, gently sweet. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy honey, Belgian sugar, and yeast; nicely dry at the perimeter, with plenty of complex Belgian character throughout; solid, generous, big Belgian beer. Lengthy finish: Belgian sugars, honey, and solid yeastiness; nicely dry. Boutip (2408), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 23, 2008 Bottle: Poured a hazy dirty golden color ale with a small foamy head with no retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of loads of candi sugar with some dry hops. Taste is a mix between some gross sweet malt notes and loads of candi sugar with a weird metallic hoppy finish. Minimal carbonation with no apparent alcohol and a full oily body. I have to say that I was disappointed by this overly sweet beer that is badly missing some balance. Hansen (2357), Randers, Denmark
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jan 5, 2007 Warming and alcohol. Lacks spice, malt or what so ever. Yellow with a bit of sediment. Pours a large white head, very lacing. Head mostly lasting. Faint bitter-hopped aromas. Not much sweetness fore a belgian strong ale, more hopped. A bit metallic perhaps.
