3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 beastiefan2k (1921) - Lawrence (formely NYC), USA - APR 9, 2009
From the other kp in GA. The pop on this bottle is ferocious. It pours with a vigorous head but it fades fast into just a decent head, just bubbly (not foamy). The color is a thick golden with some clarity. Aroma is weird, it’s a mix of beautiful floral yeasitness with a honey and spoiled milk/vomit... yeah like I said, weird. On the bright side it is a sweet, faintly chocolate, nice type of spoiled milk/vomit. Taste is lower on that weird aspect, just an ester and sweet brew. It seems there is a honey gone awry aspect here. Makes it a bit too sweet and a bit too, well, honey, espesically with all the esters. Its fine, yet over-the-top. A lightly thicker feel but enough carbonation to offset it. A long sweet, honey-ish, and cocoa aftertaste. Its rough around the edges, but for a light colored beer I feel this could age a little bit. There is a bit of alcohol heft to it. Later pours give it a much larger head and a thicker, dirtier color.

(swing top bottle, 33cl) Cloudy, pale golden colour with a blond and tall foamy head. Yeasty and fruity aroma with notes of apricots and citrus, backed by pale malt and a mildly spicy touch. Moderately sweet flavour with a tinge of sourness, full bodied with a lively carbonation. Straight pale malt-character with fruity notes of mainly citrus; sweet and citric sour-fruity finish with a warming alcoholic strength. Likeable but also not very complex. 26.XII.11

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2012 (0,33L Swing Top bottle) It resembled a Berliner Weisse , Jesus Christ this beer had a pale complextion that morphed from yellow to sick green’ish, wish id drank it from my ’Kindi Berliner ’ goblet to get with spirit . Its anything but a Berliner to drink though . I drink this spicy ,peppery - errtatically sweet beer and think of how many alcoholics Belgian must have . Why drink this if you can drink Duvel anyhow? . No finesse here , but its ok .

Enormous gushing head, hazy orange body. Fresh yeast, green apple, alcohol, wheat and cloves. Dry taste, light sweet. Heavily carbonated. Nothing like I expect or want a Christmas beer to be. More fresh, crisp and Duvel like. (33cl bottle)
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Swaroga (355) - Brussels, BELGIUM - DEC 1, 2011
33cl bottle. Light yellow/green and hazy. The head is white and amazingly lively. Don’t pour this thing without some precautions. Nose : citrus notes, strong cherry esters with this quite original liquor presence. Yeast and caramel. Sip : Oily with a sparlking carbonation. Sweet alcohol filled with fruity ester aromas. Very spicy : pepper, paprika ? some little clove. The alcohol is there but well balanced into the overall taste. One glass yes, but a good one.
