UPDATED: JAN 23, 2015 Just the right amount of spice without overpowering this crisp lager. A nice compliment to Chinese food but completely enjoyable on its own.

I usually donít care for Lagers but the Asian Spices really ad a lot of flavor to the beer. Canít wait to try it with sushi or as a saki bomb.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAR 5, 2014 Funk foot taste of a lager but with some spice to it. The spice makes it more enjoyable than a normal lager, but still a bit odd. Has a bit of a citrus and crisp taste. Could be refreshing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the Lakewood Location. Pour is clear straw with a big white head and great lacing. Fairly muted aroma - cereal, grain, lightly toasted, grass, and spice. Taste is pretty clean - lavender, dough, straw, grass, floral, and minerally with a crisp dry finish. Light body with high carbobation. Decent beer, but could have done without the "secret spices."

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tap at the brewery - a fairly simple, borderline boring lager - the rice is fairly evident, giving an almost watered-down sake kind of charcter to the beer - a mild honey sweetness and very subtle grainy character - a mild saffron note and some peppery spiciness, especially in the finish - pretty boring, even with the spice addition - oh well.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
draft @ Denver Bicycle Cafe. filtered gold with a white head. "secret spices" comes across as strong lavender in nose and taste, and there are notes that come across as saffron. otherwise itís fairly neutral and simple, the rice doesnít exactly taste like much but the light body and almost-neutral pear/rice/sake character is present. medium acid, moderately rough carbonation and a lengthy potpourri/floral/lavender finish. too rough, too fizzy and abrasive, and over-spiced. ah well.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap during Denver Brew at the Zoo 2011. Clear straw yellow with an intriguing aroma of greasy saucy asian noodles, with a subtle herbal spice. Taste is lager-rific with lots of biscuity toasty malts, but is balanced and smooth enough to be neither sweet or dry. Great balance with a light easy body. Might be better if full bodied, but hits the mark it aims for.
