Bottle shared by Countbeer, thanks! Opaque black color, full sized brown head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is malts, dark and roasted malts, tar. Taste malts, roasted malts, liquorice, tar, bitter. Decent body, medium carbonation. Solid.

Bottle: Thanks Owen: Served in a Chouffe glass: Black beer with a brown head. Nose has tones of roast, coffee, liquorice, bay leaf, little tar and soy notes, some raisin, hint of gingerbread and a light light floral tint. Flavours of roast, liquorice, bay leaf, some soy, light mocha and dark chocolate tints, laurel, raisin, bitters, light coffee... Aftertaste is bitter, roasty, light liquorice, light coffee and some laurel. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, bit more than medium bodied. Decent.

Dark brown. Not much head. Oily, slightly burnt, a touch of alcohol. Rich, burnt sugars, touch of torched fruit. Kind of a simple character, but fairly intense.

Nice, but pushing the limit of being boozy. Cocoa aroma, boozy stewed prune flavor with dry cocoa finish. Aftertaste is boozy

Bottle - Dark roasty cocoa. Deep dark brown with a small light brown head. Dirty cocoa notes, overcarbed and a long light bitter finish. Not great.

Tasting at Matt’s
Black color, beige head. Dark brown color, near black, with beige frothy head. Aroma of cheap chocolate and tobacco. Roasted malts flavor, a bit sour, coffee, heavily roasted nuts.
Weird.

500ml bottle at Matt’s. Aroma is saddle, leather, roasted seeds. Taste is hoppy bitterness, burnt malt. Burnt malt, hoppy bitternesa aftertaste. Strange one :-)

500mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma smells a bit off, with a slight sour note, and roasted malt. Flavour is heavy on the roasted malt, with some bitter dry cocoa, and an off-putting bitter astringency. Mind-boggling how this has such a high rating. Messy, incoherent and potentially infected. Not impressive.

330 ml bottle from Grand Central Cellars in Brisbane. Pours pitch black with medium tan head. Very mild aroma of chocolate. Taste is strong, almost burnt roasted malt. Fairly bitter aftertaste. Ok, but not great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
