750ml bottle from Archive Beer Boutique. Rating from September 2014. Cracker of a big black beer this one. Fills the mouth with with burnt bitterness and leaves you searching for another one.

Strong aroma of chocolate and coffee, very, very smooth. Nut flavours linger on the palate. A great example of an imperial stout. Get it!

750ml bottle, poured into a snifter. Dark brown to black, with a creamy brown head. Strong coffee/chocolate aroma. Beautiful warming sensation, oaky, nutty coffee with chocolate - very nice.

Inky and opaque with nice big creamy mocha head. Big chocolate and mocha coffee in the aroma, with hints of cheesy vegemite and vanilla. Heaps of roastiness and charcoal in the taste, with underlying treacle sweetness, dark chocolate, bitter coffee and cream. A little thinner than I expect in an imperial stout. Good effort overall.

Bottle: Thanks Owen: Served in a Chouffe glass: Black beer with a brown head. Nose has tones of roast, coffee, liquorice, bay leaf, little tar and soy notes, some raisin, hint of gingerbread and a light light floral tint. Flavours of roast, liquorice, bay leaf, some soy, light mocha and dark chocolate tints, laurel, raisin, bitters, light coffee... Aftertaste is bitter, roasty, light liquorice, light coffee and some laurel. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, bit more than medium bodied. Decent.

Tap at déjàvu. Pours a pitch black with a solid tanned head. Superb lacing left around the glass. Aromas is big on the sweet bitter cocoa, coffee, roast malts and vanilla. Taste has the bitter coffee and malts up front with the chocolate vanilla backbone coating the palate. Vanilla really smooths it out. Palate left dry and wanting more. 10% abv hidden well too. Pretty pleased ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours black with a large dark tan head. Nose shows cocoa, roasted barley, coffee and some spicy noble hops. Flavours include cocoa, ash, roasted barley, sweet malt, liquorice. Nice bittersweet finish. Carbonation could be higher.
