Full of rich complex malt flavours. Using a broad mix of chocolate and crystal malts, the Cavalier Brown delivers an initial burst of caramel sweetness, followed by a dry, crisp roasted note. The perfect mix of chocolate and toasty caramel flavours. With added complexity aromas from classic American hops add subtle citrus notes that will reveal something new in every sip.

Bottle, Hoo Haa Bar, Brisbane Deep ruby body, holds a off-white head. Nice nose; plenty of hop citrus & pine to accompany rich toffee, biscuit, nuts & chocolate. Full body, plenty of texture, good carbonation. Good hit of nutty, toffee, biscuity malt with notes of chocolate & spicy hop. Long finish, plenty of bitterness.

UPDATED: FEB 10, 2015 The bottle describes it as "the perfect mix of chocolate and toasty caramel flavours" which is dead on. It pours very dark with an immaculate head, creamy, not too sweet, bitter finish. Re-rating, really strong roast aroma and flavour, one of the best heads I’ve seen.

Bottle. Murky brown and frothy cream head. Chocolate, toasted nuts and just a hint of citrus. Initial lemony citrus hop flavour, which leads into nuts, chocolate, caramel and toasted malt. A good beer that was let down by being over carbonated for the style, which prevented the full flavour profile coming through.

More black than brown, hazy tinges Sweet nose of burnt molasses, some caffe latte. Sticky body, medium to high carbonation. The first sip was a shock- like licking a brown sugar cube. Once I settled into it I got some rich malts, raisins. Bitter hops hold up the finish. Overall distinctive and tasty when in the mood, but a touch overdone?

Keg at Mrs Parmas, Melbourne, Victoria. Hazy mahogany colour, mid sized head. Chocolaty nose. Mid dry with light body and clean mouthfeel. Chocolate and crystal malt, notes of wood and caramel. Light grassy bitterness. Interesting.

On tap at Harts Pub, muddy dark brown looking body, touch of coffee on the nose then some vanilla, choc notes in the taste with roasted bitterness, smooth and easy drinking just probably let warm up a tad but didn’t have a chance.

500ml Bottle. Dark Amber/Brown coloured ale. Large, frothy head. Overall sweet aroma of chocolate, with strong notes of coffee and hints of roasted chestnuts. Full bodied ale, flavours of rich, dark caramel. Very malty. Notes of coffee with a strong, more stout like bitter finish.

A bit too chocolate-y for my taste - I like my browns nutty. Not very complex, really, even considering the lower alcohol content. On tap at the Wheaty.
