COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A modern twist on the classic pale ale. Bucket loads of Nelson Sauvin hops are added late in the boil to create the Cavalier Pales signature flavour. Bold grapefruit and passionfruit from the hops are supported by a firm but not overwhelming malt backbone. Special attention has been paid so that there is no harsh bitterness from the hops, finishing off a refreshing and easy drinking beer.

A nice pale ale with a twist. The grapefruit flavour is nice and not overwhelming. The diversity of taste is great but a strangely enough a little blend in the end

Bottle. Hazy, slightly brownish amber pour with a short, lasting beige head. Aroma is hoppy but relatively mild and has notes of mango, grapefruit, orange, green apple and caramel. Flavour is very similar to the aroma but the fruitiness is more pronounced, leaning heavily on the citrus, and there is a slight mineral undertone. Mouthfeel is light and creamy with lively carbonation and a fresh hoppy, mildly bitter finish that lingers a little. Not the most typical example of the style but quite pleasant and highly sessionable.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Very zesty and citrus forward pale. Unusual. Works well and is enjoyable but nothing jumps out at me

330mL bottle, pours a dark caramel colour with lasting head and an amazing sweet grapefruit aroma wow.. The grapefruit does come through to the flavour and a light bitterness that makes it so easy to drink. Carbonation is spot on and it has a medium body. I’m really impressed by the 2 cavalier beers i have but this beer is the stand out.. god i hope they do an IPA.

330ml bottle. Lots of foam in the initial pour, big and rocky. Vibrant orange colour and a really smooth mouthfeel. Flavour is full with very little bitterness. I think this is the best of the 3 beer I have had from Cavlier.

From a 330ml bottle on 8/3/2012 (batch no. 108). Pours an opaque dark orange with smallish bubbly head that dissipates quickly. Has a lovely fruity, floral (pollen) aroma with a touch of honey. The flavour follows suit with more fruit and honey, and some yeastiness, against a background of English style malt. The carbonation is mid to high. A nice pale ale.

Pours dark amber with a large, fading head. Nose shows citrus fruit along with peach, green apple and fruit sherbet. Lovely. Flavours are not as fruity, instead focussing on nutty and toasty malt. Finish is a bit weak, needs more bitterness. Could use more carbonation.

On tap at Mrs Parma’s. Unique beer, very interesting. Aromas of pistachio and caramel. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness, and long length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Amber, with a frothy head.

Bottle, batch 66. Clear amber with a dense off-white head that fades but laces well. Aroma of passionfruit, grapefruit, toffee, spices. Mouthfeel is slightly slippery. Low carbonation. Taste is fruity and moderately bitter. Toffee is slightly butterscotchish, but not much more than respectable in my book for British-style malts. Nice use of Kiwi hops - no cat. Not quite there and horrendously expensive, but quite engaging.
