Draft @ Delaney’s, New Haven. This is my first beer from Cavalry and not a bad one at all. This beer was nicely balanced and easy to drink, nothing special, but a solid pale ale. Some grass and floral notes from the hops and a little bit of dark fruit from the malts. Beer isn’t bready as all (I hate bready pale ales). I’m interested in trying their other beers.

Translucent copper with a ruby tinge and a foamy beige head. Medium body with very bubbly carbonation.

Aroma: wild yeast infection and lactic acid bacteria sourness, pale malt, and a touch of roasted malt.

Taste: green peas (dms?), chocolate malt, dark crystal malt.

12 oz. bottle. English pint shows nearly clear amber color with yet again over carbonation. After a slow pour I had to wait at the half way point because of the large frothy mess. Nose is citrus hops with some malt. Taste is very much a EPA. Light effervescent mouthfeel. Slightly bitter, with more of a English hop variety for sure. The brewers description says “a hint of chocolate malt” well, I don’t find that but it is an easy enough to drink brew.

Mild sweet malt aroma with very light hops. Cloudy orange color with a medium off white head. Sweet in the beginning and a light tangy bitterness throughout. Great session beer.
