This is a lager with a chili pepper in the bottle, the taste is strong chili, hot and nacho like, the lager taste is overpowered by the chili

Okay, if you don’t like peppers, *don’t* buy this beer. Don’t rate it, don’t try it, just leave it alone. Now that we’ve gotten past that, this isn’t a bad beer. The extremely low carbonation and pale piss color scared me off a little, but the aroma’s actually not that bad. The chili flavor overpowers all the subtle flavors of the beer, of course, but it’s not the burn that other raters have given it. If habenero isn’t a stranger to your lexicon, or your tongue, you shouldn’t have any trouble getting this down. My advice is to drink straight from the bottle, rather than from a glass, because this is a beer you don’t really want to let breathe. Take big gulps, not small sips, and enjoy. Try it with chips and salsa.

SOME people say beer is like food. I get that here. This brew is beery and sweet with a genuine flavor of chili. It is medium hot, consistant and has nice color that is Golden Orange with constant small and substantial carbonation. The heat and sweet busy ups the body along with the aroma that broadcasts what you are about to receive. Two toned finish of hot and refreshing with the sweet, just can’t imagine giving this demonstrative, quirky and pleasant looking brew less than a 3.

Poured from the bottle with the Chille. Aroma is of pickled jalapeno. Flavor is nice, pure jalapeno. You do get the pepper burn down to the gut, but as a bit of a pepper lover its nice. The burning does linger. You gotta try everything once, and you just might like it!

12oz bottle. Perfectly clear yellow color, active-looking carbonation. No head. An actual chili pepper sitting at the bottom of the bottle, and later at the bottom of my glass. Which is awesome. Sure, it otherwise looks awful, but there’s an actual chili inside... How could this deserve a 1 for Appearance? Definitely the most spicy-hot beer I’ve ever tasted. It’s a nice, flavorful punch for the typically bready/yeasty/skunky lager style. It can also be painful to drink because of that incredible chili aroma, but it’s a chili beer. You can’t deny that this beer delivers on the chili front. It’s very unique, fun, and interesting. A beer to reaffirm your manliness.

I must say this beer was pretty good. I think the idea of a spicy beer is great. The beer did not have a hop aroma. The beer just smelled of the chili in the beer. Nice color, I thought. The beer had a very spicy flavor, and there was not much more to it than that. I am surprised that no one else seems to like this beer at all.

I actually really liked this beer. Sure I couldn’t drink it all night but it is a really unique brew. Strong flavor of chili with a lingering hotness.

UPDATED: JUL 24, 2006 Bottle. Smells like slightly off Sol/Corona. Flavor isn’t too bad. Flavor of jalapeno and malt. Very interesting aftertaste, infact it’s the thing that made the beer worth it. I knew what I was buying when I got it, so that explains the rating.

clear yellowish gold, quickly disappearing white head, modestly lacy. aroma has some capsaicin, touch of grain. nice taste of chili pepper in a mild lager. medium bodied, mild capsaisin aftertaste. quite enjoyable. the whole pepper is a grand idea. i sometimes drop sport peppers in macro beers to make them more interesting. to someone like me, who eats a lot of jalapenos, the whole chili in the bottle makes a great snack while drinking. 6 pack from liquor depot in monee.

This is one extraordinarily interesting beer. Although I love spicy food, I’m not normally into spicy beverages. The aroma of chili pepper is actually quite nice, without being overwhelming. The flavor, however, is quite in-your-face at first, with very pronounced pepper hotness. After the taste buds recover from the initial shock, this beer really isn’t too bad for what it is. Now, if you’re the type of person who sees a chili pepper floating in your beer but want it to taste like an imperial stout, you’re going to be disappointed. So, as chili beers go, I’d have to say this is one of the best.
