1st rater, sampler @ brewpub and later a growler. This was an anomaly, not the standard type of brewpub brew, something a little more experimental. It was a completely pale, macro, clear piss yellow. Aroma was strong but not spicy jalapeño. Same in the flavor but not much else beer wise. Its like a Coors light mixed with jalapeño. Good thing I like pepper beers.

On tap at the brewpub (though I’d had it earlier thanks to Eugene’s growler at BCTC, but my notes on that were a bit sparse, and I must not have been in the mood for this one then). Pours a clear watery yellow, light haze, no head. Jalapeno, smoke. Very subdued pepper, no huge burning flavor. Very light, done pretty well, though the utter watery look to it doesn’t do anything good for what is otherwise a nice beer, but it does translate into a rather watery palate as well. Otherwise, it’s quite balanced, and paired up quite well with the grilled quesadilla on the menu.

Growler at BCTC 2009: Thanks Eugene. Slightly hazy pale yellow pour topped by a thin white. Light feel- some crackery pils base comes through under the peppery resins (though not over the top). Seems to be a solid pils base beer. Dry, crisp with a smooth jalapeno oil flavor and moderate heat on the back. A nice jalapeno beer.
