Bottle. Poured a crystal clear pale gold color with a white head. Vanilla, corn syrup, and fresh grassy hops in the nose. Light bodied and slightly sweet with hay, distinct corn, and pleasant grassy hop. Not too bad despite the corny notes.

Tap at a tiki bar at Georgetown, Cayman Islands right on the port-pours lite orange/dark yellow with a small fizzy white head with some lacing. nose is of a european lager beer-lite skunk, metallic notes and mineral aspects. however, its actually quite pleasant on this tropical oasis. flavors are lite minerals, skunky yeast and husky malt flavors with a lot of sweetness. not much adjunct flavors which made this quite refreshing. has quite a bit of spicy hops to balance out the dryness. a very nice beer for a tropical island!

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
So I bought this and then realized you can’t even really see the Cayman Islands on the world map. Anyway, golden yellow, spotty floaties, weird, white cover. Aroma is skunky, corny, typical lager. Taste is metal, thick corn, sweet, syrupy.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at Hammerheads in Cayman Islands. Pours a pale golden with a medium frothy white head leaving behind good sticky lacing. The aroma is a sweet grain malt. Thin mouthfeel with a corn malt taste and nice crisp finish. A decent lager from Caybrew.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
First stop on my recent cruise was Georgetown Grand Cayman where I had the opportunity to sample a few bottles of Caybrew while waiting for the line to the tender to go down. Served in a green bottle at Margaritaville by a waitress who seemed put out when I asked for a glass.
Pours a fizzy yellow bordering on gold with a good sized fluffy white head that dissipates quickly.
Smells of light grains a hint of corn and a slight floral hop note if I think about it real hard.
Taste is light and refreshing and hits the spot on this 90+ degree day. Light sweet malt with a hint of floral hops and a hint of skunk. Reminds me a lot of Heineken or what I remember of Heineken.
Light body, crisp carbonation, watery mouthfeel. Light and refreshing on a warm day but little in the way of flavor for my wrecked palette.

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
so the story first. had a family member going to the cayman islands on a cruise and asked me if there was anything they could bring back. having read an article about this brewery i said sure bring back a six pack of caybrew for me if you see it. it was bought in the rum distributer off the boat and was already two months past the bb. date on the bottom of the can, not a good start for a new brewery.
review: poured a light golden in color with streaming carbonation on the pour and a half inch of white froth that disappeared immediately. aroma has grains, sweet malt, and very light hops that may be the product of me looking for them. mouth feel is watery with little carbonation that could have helped this along a bit. flavor is sweet malt with some grains, very watery, and has some staleness. brewery had it’s first beer produced in march 2007 and if i am already buying stale outdated beer this is not a good sign for these guys. also of note the six pack cost was a little under 10.00$ making it real steep. hope someone from the brewery reads this stuff because this is not going to lead to there success.

Served from a 12 oz bottle while in George Town, Cayman Island on the honeymoon cruise. The appearance is bright gold. The aromas and flavors are cereal and malt with a certain dryness. Ehh.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
A typical but somewhat better than average island-style lager. Only ever had it straight from the bottle or in a plastic cup, just as it should be.

bottle. Poured clear pale yellow with a bubbley white head. The aroma is grainy with a little citrus, but a bit skunky. Crisp mouthfeel. Light and grainy flavour with a malty backbone. Not a bad island brew. I recommend drinking it ice cold from the bottle.
