Clear dark red brown color with a small, fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, roasted, coffee, sour coffee, keller, light hoppy. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, acrid bitter. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. Cask at GBBF 2010, 3rd Aug 2010. Near black with a slight cream head. Delicate standard mild flavours of chocolate, caramel and toffee. Decent.

Fruity aroma. Dark coloured and a little rich on the palate with a hint of dryness in a bitter and hoppy burnt roast finish.

Cask@GBBF2010. Very deep amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is dark fruits, some wood, mild smoked wood and some hay. Flavour is fruits, smoked wood, earthy, mild liquorice as well as chocolate and coffee.

6 Rich roast, but quite subdued.

7 Lovely gentle burntness, and some gently tingling bitter hops.
4 Refreshing palate, carbonataion low. Finish a little dry.
14 Lovely mild, full of roastiness, but very refreshing.

Cask, Newark Winter Fest 09. Very dark brown with a beige head. Aromas are molasses and chocolate with peppery notes. Flavours are light chocolate with hints of citrus. Light roast coffee with earthy notes. Some grapefruit towards the finish. A decent mild.

Cask at Victoria Hotel, Beeston, Nottingham. Very dark red brown with a small white ehad. Ashy aroma. Gentle, sour earthy taste. Slight bitterness. Not a bad mild.
