Cask conditioned at Harbury Beer fest ’09. Brown with slight head. Sweet chocolate and quite powdery with a yeasty fungal note underlying the flavour. A little late coffee gives it some body. Reasonable.

Cask at the Gatehouse, Nottingham. This is a dark brown beer with a faint malty aroma. Its flavour is predominantly sweet malt but it’s pretty insipid and watery although not unpleasant.

Draught. Low and quickly disappearing white fluffy head. Very dark red brown almost black body. Mild and sugary coffee aroma. Mild coffee flavor with slightly metallic notes and little hops bitterness. Low carbonation, long aftertaste.

Cask (gravity) @ The National Winter Ales Festival 2008, Manchester, UK. Clear medium to dark brown color with a average, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, mild coffee, vanilla. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. (Very easy to drink). Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft - flat. (190108)

Cask at GBBF 2007. A brown beer with a thick brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty and rather roasted combined with notes of caramel, leading to a finish with a hint of soy sauce. The body is thin.
