Gold, thin head, light lacing. Nose of light sweet malt, some floral hops. A sweet malty flavor, nice balance, still lacking a good clean character. Malty finish, needs more body and hops.

This APA pours a light gold color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity and sweet. Medium bodied American Pale Ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are slightly earthy and a touch floral. Kind of mild tasting. A touch sweet and fruity, seems more of a golden ale than an APA. Drinkable, but nothing memorable. There are lots of beers out there that fall into this category. Well made and tasty, but similar to 1000s of other beers out there. Not that’s it a bad thing. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Poured a clear light cgold with a large white head. The aroma was toasty and very malty with hops mixed in. The flavor was citrusy and earthy hopped with a malty base. Mildly bitter and semi-dry.

A: The beer pours a pale golden orange color with a soapy white head. S: Very light on the aroma. Some light fruits like pears and apples. Hints of spice, lemon zest, and some straw. Lemon candy sweetness/sourness to it which is sort of strange. T: A big lemon flavor, leaning toward lemon candy. Light fruitiness with the same pears and apples that were present on the nose. A weird sort of straw flavor and a mild sweetness to it. M: Light in body with a medium level of carbonation. O: This was a really weird beer. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t really taste like it should have...

Bottle; nose is grainy and breadywith a tiny hop note; semi hazed gold with a small white head; sweet whaet flavor with only a tiny bit of hops in the finish! My wife’s grandmother lived on Cayucos Beach until she passed, I was hoping for a better tribute beer to toast in her honor!

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2011 04-Feb-11 (12-oz bottle: Purchased 18-Jan-11 for $1.29 at Total Wine & More in Tustin, CA) Well, this beer is infected. I just bought this and the bottle and label look newly brewed and packaged, no fading or tears, but there is no bottling date, so it’s hard to say. The beer used to be contract brewed at the now-defunct Coast Range brewery, but the label says San Jose now, not Gilroy. The flavor is tart and lemony like a Berliner Weisse with a bit of dustiness, but the finish tastes like apple skin and soapy dishwater in the finish. Smells like lemon and tart fruit for the most part, with dusty cobwebs and hint of medicine/band aid. Medium acidity, light body, high carbonation. The beer is a hazy golden color and the off-white head pours very large due to the excess carbonation. Clearly not what the beer is supposed to be (perhaps a pale or golden ale?), but it’s a sour beer now.
