A touch on the malty side, even somewhat nutty, some decent apricot fruitiness, but overall pretty dull and disapoointing, with the hops hardly making an appearance, only as an afterthought.

Pours a light orange color with a white fluffy head. Aroma is malty with big earthy hops. Flavor is light malt, and a bitter grassy, earthy hop finish.

Thanks to Beerdrenched for sharing this CA brew. Pours light copper with a small whitish head. The aroma is grassy and grainy with light pale malt and minor hops. Medium / thin body with a small amount of sharp carbonation. The taste is fairly watery with light spice and unpleasant citrus (not in the hoppy way). The finish is fairly sour. This was part of a beer night where after this beer Beerdrenched quickly made up for a few duds.

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2011 04-Feb-11 (12-oz bottle: Purchased 18-Jan-11 for $1.29 at Total Wine & More in Tustin, CA) Well, this beer is infected. I just bought this and the bottle and label look newly brewed and packaged, no fading or tears, but there is no bottling date, so it’s hard to say. The beer used to be contract brewed at the now-defunct Coast Range brewery, but the label says San Jose now, not Gilroy. The flavor is tart and lemony like a Berliner Weisse with a bit of dustiness, but the finish tastes like apple skin and soapy dishwater in the finish. Smells like lemon and tart fruit for the most part, with dusty cobwebs and hint of medicine/band aid. Medium acidity, light body, high carbonation. The beer is a hazy golden color and the off-white head pours very large due to the excess carbonation. Clearly not what the beer is supposed to be (perhaps a pale or golden ale?), but it’s a sour beer now.
