3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 ml bottle. A hazy light to medium yellow beer with an average sized, frothy, creamy, lacing, mostly diminishing white head. The aroma is lightly to moderately malty, lightly to moderately hoppy, lightly to moderately yeasty. There are notes of grains, bread, flowers, grass, lemon, barnyard, with some herbs. The flavour is moderately sweet. moderately sour, lightly to moderately bitter. Smooth mouthfeel, medium body, lively carbonation, quite long finish with medium bitterness. It looks average and at the beginning it doesn’t smell that good, instead a bit "dirty", but not if you pay more attention. The rest is very good.

25/09/2010 - 75cl @ Karakterbierfestival Bissegem
Pours a milk cloudy straw yellow to whitish beer, airy adhesive white head. Aroma is very stale, musty, grassy (hops) and mildew. MF is somewhat flat, medium to thin body. Taste is pretty spicy, fruity with hops. Aftertaste is hop bitter with some pepper and ends very dry. The aftertaste is the best part of this beer, best to drink it with your nose closed.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Bottled, 5.0% ABV) Hazy yellow-golden with a small, but firm and lacy head. Aroma of flowery-herby hops, pale malt, some earthy tartness. Flavor is pale-malty, slightly papery and acidic, flowery, slighly ashy, moderately grassy-bitter. Light to medium body, medium to high carbonation, reasonably refreshing. Quite good in its "mild and dry, pilsenery saison" class, but I prefer the more fruity/earthy/complex ones. 3543

Man, so many saisons in my backlog. Nice head on this one. Lovely thyme, chamomile, juniper and coconut aroma. A pleasure to smell. Dryish, yeasty, and a touch flat in the mouth, some hay and a corresponding pricklyness to go with it.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
75cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Slightly hazy golden orange colour, white head. Aroma of elderflowers, light malty, light spicy, light white wine like. Flavour is light tart, elderflowers, light bitter, it’s nice and crisp, but somehow the elderflowers put me off a bit. Bitter-ish finish. Light bodied, subdued flavours.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
750 ml bottle- found at Abes In pa I think. Pours a nice mostly clear (first pour) light golden with a big rocky head and nice lacing. Aroma is earthy, light delicate doughy pils malts, some fresh bread at first, with a light spicy earthy salty phenolic (seems like a great start), light pils malt, hay and grass and light hops- as it warms more black pepper comes out and even some green bell pepper- this is where it gets weird... Flavor starts out ok- doughy malts, some spice, phenolics, pepper, then gets a touch crackery, thins out a bit in the middle and continues as it warms, with more green bell pepper spicyness, grass, toast, light plastic pheniolics, earth, leather, - fairly dry but gets a bit thin, lemon pepper and green bell pepper bordering on jalepeno towards the end- fairly dry but not real body at the end to back it up- gets crackery and thin.
