COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with elderflower.

Saison Cazeau is a light white beer, refermented in the bottle, with 5% alcohol content. As well as the Pilsen malt and two hops which give it a really nice bitter flavour, Saison is laced with elderflowers (Sambucus Nigra L.) which make it really refreshing. The elderflower only blooms for three weeks between mid-May and mid-June, which means that production of our Saison is very time-limited.

Bottle - 750ml. Hazy pale blond body with average carbonation and a decent white foamy head. Fresh hoppy aroma with flowery and honeyish hints. Its hoppy taste is sharp, but lacks complexity. It ends with a long bitter/sour finish. Average Saison.

Sedimented beautiful gold. Pale and producing a large and frothy pure white foam. Dense and clinging bubbles. Highly attractive. Limey, flowery aroma shows more grain character than most saison, actually being surprisingly grainy, but also wheaty. DRY yeast character reminds of soil. Stoney, pencil shavings, herbal and spicey (chives? salt? white pepper? oregano?) bitterness hides a very mineral character with charm . Foamy, bubbly palate remains dry and basementy/dusty, but not as tight as some. I’m impressed at how grainy this smelled and how dry it is in mouth. I quite enjoy that, though one can’t call it very tasty since it possessed little hop character and its malts disappear on the palate. Still, a unique offering with a rare yeast character.
