"A true seasonal beer, as refreshing as it should be! Taste it in the summer, sitting at a terrace table … " Originally, season beer was a beer brewed before the summer and intended for summer-season farmhands. It had low alcohol content and a marked bitterness that made it really refreshing. We wanted to offer a truly seasonal Season with production limited in time. As Laurent Agache’s

20110208 750 ml bottle from State Line. Palest yellow with sticky white head and quite clouded, it looks more like a witte than many witte. Aroma has a nice mild barnyard mustiness along with some lawn clippings and muddy field. Refreshing and soft palate with a slight yeasty sweetness, bread-dough acidity, and lovely finishing grassy bite. Overall pleasant beer that reminds enormously of slightly old Dupont Avril. Nothing special, but very drinkable. Why can’t more US brewers make stuff like this and sell it in six packs or bombers for cheap year-round rather than this scourge of over 6% ABV saisons in 22oz and 750ml bottles?

Bottle from City Beer. Pours light golden with a massive white head and a pleasant floral aroma. There is a slightly bitter pale malt flavor with a huge yeast presence. Very taasty. The elder flowers are a nice addition.

Pour is a hazy blonde with a huge white head. Aroma is a decent dry pils malt with some funk thrown in there. Flavor is spicy at first then a little pepper comes out. After the swallow a little funk is left on the tounge. A very laid back easy drinking, no frills saison.

750 ml bottle. A hazy light to medium yellow beer with an average sized, frothy, creamy, lacing, mostly diminishing white head. The aroma is lightly to moderately malty, lightly to moderately hoppy, lightly to moderately yeasty. There are notes of grains, bread, flowers, grass, lemon, barnyard, with some herbs. The flavour is moderately sweet. moderately sour, lightly to moderately bitter. Smooth mouthfeel, medium body, lively carbonation, quite long finish with medium bitterness. It looks average and at the beginning it doesn’t smell that good, instead a bit "dirty", but not if you pay more attention. The rest is very good.

25/09/2010 - 75cl @ Karakterbierfestival Bissegem

Pours a milk cloudy straw yellow to whitish beer, airy adhesive white head. Aroma is very stale, musty, grassy (hops) and mildew. MF is somewhat flat, medium to thin body. Taste is pretty spicy, fruity with hops. Aftertaste is hop bitter with some pepper and ends very dry. The aftertaste is the best part of this beer, best to drink it with your nose closed.
