COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with elderflower.

Saison Cazeau is a light white beer, refermented in the bottle, with 5% alcohol content. As well as the Pilsen malt and two hops which give it a really nice bitter flavour, Saison is laced with elderflowers (Sambucus Nigra L.) which make it really refreshing. The elderflower only blooms for three weeks between mid-May and mid-June, which means that production of our Saison is very time-limited.

33cl bottle. Clear yellow with big, snowy white head. Nose : Soap, citrus, yeast, straw. Sip : Low density with oily texture. Medium carbonation. The beer is slightly malty comparable to a regular pils with notes of straw and lemon zest. It develops zesty and bitter mouth with some delicate mettalic notes. It is really easy to drink and a good balance between malts, aromas and bitter hops. I would enjoy it much more in the summer though.

Visual: Pours a lovely clear bright golden yellow with a largish super foamy lasting head, thick sticky lacing, a nice thick layer of retention, abundant clusters of fast activity. A beautiful sight. Nose: Sour citrus wheat malts, barnyard. (lvl-5)-pungency Attack: crisp malty, almost salty Mid-palate: creamy smooth, some fizziness, (lvl-4)-sweetness, light-medium sourness, (MAIN) wheat malts, elderflower, lemon citrus, lager sweetness Finish: excellent bitter hopped transition, grainy sweet wheat finish. Summary: Drinks like a very nice creamy textured sweet lager with a bit more hop character. Not at all the like your typical sour saison. Very drinkable.

Bottled. Courtesy of bartlebier. Reminiscence of bubble bath. Soapy, perfumy. Gushing? Thanks a lot bartlebier!

shared @ DE-CH-F TriStateTasting, with special thanks to bartlebier! Faint smell of elderflowers, mouthfeel a bit too foamy imho, taste is a bit fruity, a bit woody, a bit cellary, a bit floral.

Froral and hoppy (in the Belgian way) saison. Body is still dry and grassy, but the aroma hops and flowers make it more of a forest beer.

Bottle 75cl @ 1st RB DE-CH-F Tasting. An almost clear yellow beer with medium head. Dry grapefruit nose with brett touch. Aroma is dry, apricot, grape and light elderflower notes, bit thin body, very floral aftertaste.

Note erbacee e speziatura, meno intense ma presenti. Gusto secco, acidulo, decisamente fresco al palato, quasi pungente. Poco calda e non molto carbonata. Equilibrata ed armonica.

Sample at Zythos 14. Pale blond. Fruit and spices, just the right amount of funk. Very pleasant little beer. Pineapple, pepper, barnyard.

Drunk from 75cl bottle bought at malting pot in Brussels. Pleasant very hoppy beer with slight taste of elderflower. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
