COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with elderflower.

Saison Cazeau is a light white beer, refermented in the bottle, with 5% alcohol content. As well as the Pilsen malt and two hops which give it a really nice bitter flavour, Saison is laced with elderflowers (Sambucus Nigra L.) which make it really refreshing. The elderflower only blooms for three weeks between mid-May and mid-June, which means that production of our Saison is very time-limited.

Really impressed by this one. On tap at Delirium Taphouse in Brussels. Bright golden color with pillowey white head. Aroma has big bright-fruity esters, tropical fruit, citrus, mango, passion fruit. Flavor has a light sweetness with refreshing and dry, moderate but serious bittermess. Delicious, refreshing. Can’t wait to get more.

This is sharp, crisp and almost coriander spicy saison. The aroma and color is perfect. The finish tight on a hot day. Like a virgin every time. -- raided in the wild, via Beer Buddy app

33 cl bottle, pours golden with a huge white head, aroma of elderflower, yeast, malt and lactic acid, taste follows the nose, sticky mouthfeel, ok finish, very ordinary.

On tap at the Cambridge Blue, nice hazy golden colour with a frothy white head. Aroma of lychee, elderflower and apple skins. Very nice dry bitter flavour that lasts for a very long time. Good beer.

(75 cl bottle) Hazy, yelllow colour. Rocky white head. Smells strongly of elderflowers/elderflower juice. Floral, herbal, yeasty, pale malty aroma. Medium bitter taste. Dry palate, astringent finish. Not totally balanced, elderflowers quite dominant. But still good. Would like to try it fresh on tap!

330ml bottle at 5%. Pours gold with a large head. Aroma is yeast, candy sugars, green apple skins and a hint of elderflowers. Taste has apple skins to start with a yeasty finish and some dusty elderflowers on the finish.

Initially clear golden blond colour, white head. When pooring the yeast (obviously) becoming quite hazy. Aroma of elderflower, brett, quite floral. Flavour quite bitter, astringent (probably because of the elderflowers. Dry. Quite bitter finish, light astringent and floral. Lasting bitterness. I rather like this one.

Bottle from Healthy Spirits in San Francisco. Served in a Moeder Lambic tulip because, forgive me, I don’t have Cazeau stemware. Pours a clear golden-yellow with a huge, foamy white head with great retention and tons of sticky lacing on the way down. Some visible carbonation bubbles in the glass. The nose has some mild pepper notes plus plenty of the elderflower that’s announced on the English portion of the label. It’s nowhere near Mamouche levels, but is still quite noticeable. Probably a bit too over the top; I prefer saisons with subtle spicing so it’s not completely obvious what was used. The flavor is over-the-top with elderflower. This is a fairly-small beer and it’s completely dominated by the elderflower character. There’s pepper skin and a bit of spice. Really not a fan. Spice carries over to the finish. Light body and heavy carbonation. This is really a one trick pony, and I’m not a fan of that single attribute, so this is one I don’t really enjoy. If you like Mamouche and want something more accessible, give this one a try.

Bottle, 33 cl. Bbd 04-2013. Cloudy light orange with a foamy, partly stable white head. Interesting but strange dry, floral aroma of elderflowers, light citrus and malts. Flavor is citric, flowery, raw herbal, sulfur, nettles, a little malty-sweetness with a harsh bitter finish, not quite In balance, yet somehow intriguing. But I am not that fond of the sulfur/nettles note! It’s like drinking bad breath. Slim body, crisp texture, lively carbonation.

Bottle: Almost clear, visible carbonation, stable mid-sized white rocky head, flowery and yeasty nose sith a nice dash of hops in the background; quite light nodied, but almost creamy, soft moderate bitter-sweet flavour; lingering dry hoppy finish. Pretty good…

Hazy gold in color. Tastes like a light wheaty gold ale. A very drinkable summer beer, but nothing particularly sets it apart.
