COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Balance! That’s what we were looking for and that’s what we’ve achieved with a round but light beer with a perfect degree of bitterness. Savour it as an aperitif with friends and tell them how it was born… Following the relaunch of the brewery in 2003, we have visited many breweries and discussed things with many seasoned or debutant brewers. Memorable visits during which the tendencies for our first beer were chosen: we wanted to produce a blonde beer, with too not strong an alcohol percent, with personality but above all remaining well balanced. To prevent it from being overly hopped, we had chosen four American hops, coherent between themselves, and subtly dosed. And to give our beer body, we opted for a malt charge of 100% barley malt, without any other cereal, nor any added sugar. At the end of several months of research, we were finally ready to create a brew in our newly installed brewing room. It took place on 01 May 2004, and Tournay Blonde was born!"

Aroma has something close to soap or something. Nothing bad, but something not beer-a-like. Taste is a bit weak and surprisingly flat.

750 ml bottle. Clear golden body with a big, dense off-white head. Aroma has pale malt with light spicy yeast. Quite light but balanced in flavor, pale malt, yeast, fruit and spicy. Nothing too complex this but sure drinkable.

Bottle 33cl. Clear medium golden, a lot of bubbles, average unstable fluffy white head, mostly diminishing leaving good patchy lacing; strong fruity aroma, orange, pinapple, soapy, ginger, coriander, herbal hops; taste medium sweet and light bitter, citrusy, spicy (ginger, pepper, coriander); medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, sweetbitter aftertaste, herbal and spicy notes, bit dusty; fresh and well-balanced blond.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden colour with a thick, fizzy white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, cereal, vanilla, some orange, slight peach and subtle floral hops. Taste is similar of cereal, grain, Belgian yeast, vanilla, barley, some orange, slight peach, herbs and floral hops. Medium bodied, a moderate carbonation and a smooth texture. A dry, funky, cereal malt finish. It’s ok. Quite malty with the unmistakeable Belgian, dry, yeasty flavour. Smooth and highly drinkable though.

fkoolen (746) - Maastricht, NETHERLANDS - JUL 5, 2015
Bottle at home. Nicely cloudy yellow colour, white foamy head that nicely laces the ale. Citrus hoppy, balanced bitterness, creamy malts; reminds me of Taras Boulba by De La Senne. Dry finish, refreshing. Medium body, lively carbonation.
