Tournay is a gold-coloured beer, calling the blond colour of earn corn in the sunset of summer evenings. This beer has been matured in bottle and only contains natural ingredients such as water, malt, sugar, hops and yeast. Without any spice addition.

Huh... for a Belgian Ale of 6.7% this is good, don’t get me wrong, but it’s also quite plain to me. The best part about it was the huge head and spiderwebs. The actual beer reminded me of an English blonde, but drier, with a small amount of spice. Fairly fruity, no tartness for me, I think if this were made by a brewery in Saskatchewan or Idaho, no one would be exactly batting an eye screaming "Wow tastes just like a real Belgian!", it’d be a "tick beer" if you catch my drift. Maybe I just woke up on the wrong side of the continent/ocean today.

Countbeer (4072) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - FEB 2, 2013
Bottle: Medium to smaller vast white head changes slowly into a thicker lacing on top of a light hazy yellow colored beer. Smell herbs and spices, some hops, some flowers, some Taste herbs, honey, hops, hay, flowers, fruits, light bitter, hint of yeast and hint of cardboard and some malts. Aftertaste is floral crispy and some herby hops. Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium bit thin body and a creamy texture. Not bad but a bit weak though easy drinkable.

Bottle. Hazy gold with a large fluffy head. Aroma is dominated by yeast. Flavour is sweet, yeast with a lemon zest and tangy on the tongue.

Bottle from state line - foams up VERY badly while pouring, so pour slowly. Anyway, one the foam disappears, the beer is cloudy orange. Aroma is quiet purfumey which I find off putting. Overall, it’s solid, but not for me.

Bottle from state line liquors. Pours golden with a thick white head. Very fragrant nose. Smells almost like perfume. Nice and dry on the tongue. Finishes clean. Nice.

Semi-hazy golden color with a thin frothy white head. The nose is a lot of funky yeast. Lighter bodied, but complex with some caramel malts, crisp citrus and a nice hoppy finish.

11.2oz bottle in a tulip. Pours golden with a thick, off-white head. Aroma of spicy yeast, caramel malts, and a good amount of hops for a Belgian beer. Flavor the same, with a little light fruit and sweetness. Average texture. A pretty good Belgian beer.

Pours hazy gold into a tulip. White head with excellent retention craters leaving sea foam lacing. Sweet caramel, yeast and biscuit aromas. Dry with upfront sweet caramel turning to an very bitter, almost metallic (in a good way) lasting finish.

(33cl bottle) Purchased at Cook Street Liquors on August 10, 2012, for $6.90. Pours a huge, yeasty head and a clouded and highly carbonated body. I was put onto these beers by Alberta’s Hoser and I am glad he did. This beer is a strong reminder of one of my favourite Belgian Ales - SAXO. It is well malted, has an overwhelming yeastiness and fruity effervescence. Its a damn fine beer... only a few shades behind Saxo.
