COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Balance! Thatís what we were looking for and thatís what weíve achieved with a round but light beer with a perfect degree of bitterness. Savour it as an aperitif with friends and tell them how it was bornÖ Following the relaunch of the brewery in 2003, we have visited many breweries and discussed things with many seasoned or debutant brewers. Memorable visits during which the tendencies for our first beer were chosen: we wanted to produce a blonde beer, with too not strong an alcohol percent, with personality but above all remaining well balanced. To prevent it from being overly hopped, we had chosen four American hops, coherent between themselves, and subtly dosed. And to give our beer body, we opted for a malt charge of 100% barley malt, without any other cereal, nor any added sugar. At the end of several months of research, we were finally ready to create a brew in our newly installed brewing room. It took place on 01 May 2004, and Tournay Blonde was born!"

Strong, yeasty flavor has malty and fruity underpinnings. Pours a hazy solar yellow with a fairly thick and fluffy dirty white head. Flavor is strongly fruity, mainly pear with subtle banana and apple notes, with some malt and yeast in attendance as well. Texture has good fizz, but comes across as on the thin side. A good drink nonetheless.

Amber blond old gold coloured beer with thin foam head. We tasted the 75cl bottle. The beer has a great malty start and a hoppy bitter finish the aftertaste is bitter long and dry. ---Rated By the Belleketels

bartlebier (2523) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - MAR 24, 2013
Draught@Festival Brassicole Tournai 2012. - strangely oldfashioned new take on a wallonian strong ale: floral, sweetish, with subserving hop bitterness, oily palate and a whole bunch of unnecessary spice coming in to play with more welcome straightforward natural flavours. Hence, too much of a good thing and average.

33cl bottle, several months past best by date but none the worse for it as far as I can tell. Labe says 7% ABV. This Tournay pours a slightly hazy (itís bottle-conditioned) amber body with an oversized creamy off-white head. The head holds up exceptionally well and leaves remarkable walls of creamy lace on the glass. The nose is a gentle mix of bready malts and largely citrus fruit. Hints of grassy, herbal and floral hops. The flavor is mildly sweet, with some tartness and bitterness. Thereís more hop flavor than the nose suggests, at least by the finish. Floral, grassy and spicy notes linger with the biscuity malt in lingering aftertaste. M: Nicely smooth, with a dry, light finish. Satisfying near-medium body. O: Adequately complex with a fruity and floral heart. With a fine mouthfeel and great look, it is also easy to drink given the 7% ABV. More like a Belgian PA than a tripel. Certainly worth trying.

Huh... for a Belgian Ale of 6.7% this is good, donít get me wrong, but itís also quite plain to me. The best part about it was the huge head and spiderwebs. The actual beer reminded me of an English blonde, but drier, with a small amount of spice. Fairly fruity, no tartness for me, I think if this were made by a brewery in Saskatchewan or Idaho, no one would be exactly batting an eye screaming "Wow tastes just like a real Belgian!", itíd be a "tick beer" if you catch my drift. Maybe I just woke up on the wrong side of the continent/ocean today.

Countbeer (5236) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - FEB 2, 2013
Bottle: Medium to smaller vast white head changes slowly into a thicker lacing on top of a light hazy yellow colored beer. Smell herbs and spices, some hops, some flowers, some Taste herbs, honey, hops, hay, flowers, fruits, light bitter, hint of yeast and hint of cardboard and some malts. Aftertaste is floral crispy and some herby hops. Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium bit thin body and a creamy texture. Not bad but a bit weak though easy drinkable.

Bottle. Hazy gold with a large fluffy head. Aroma is dominated by yeast. Flavour is sweet, yeast with a lemon zest and tangy on the tongue.

Bottle from state line - foams up VERY badly while pouring, so pour slowly. Anyway, one the foam disappears, the beer is cloudy orange. Aroma is quiet purfumey which I find off putting. Overall, itís solid, but not for me.
