COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Balance! That’s what we were looking for and that’s what we’ve achieved with a round but light beer with a perfect degree of bitterness. Savour it as an aperitif with friends and tell them how it was born… Following the relaunch of the brewery in 2003, we have visited many breweries and discussed things with many seasoned or debutant brewers. Memorable visits during which the tendencies for our first beer were chosen: we wanted to produce a blonde beer, with too not strong an alcohol percent, with personality but above all remaining well balanced. To prevent it from being overly hopped, we had chosen four American hops, coherent between themselves, and subtly dosed. And to give our beer body, we opted for a malt charge of 100% barley malt, without any other cereal, nor any added sugar. At the end of several months of research, we were finally ready to create a brew in our newly installed brewing room. It took place on 01 May 2004, and Tournay Blonde was born!"

Countbeer (5337) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, - FEB 2, 2013
Bottle: Medium to smaller vast white head changes slowly into a thicker lacing on top of a light hazy yellow colored beer. Smell herbs and spices, some hops, some flowers, some Taste herbs, honey, hops, hay, flowers, fruits, light bitter, hint of yeast and hint of cardboard and some malts. Aftertaste is floral crispy and some herby hops. Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium bit thin body and a creamy texture. Not bad but a bit weak though easy drinkable.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden colour with a thick, fizzy white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, cereal, vanilla, some orange, slight peach and subtle floral hops. Taste is similar of cereal, grain, Belgian yeast, vanilla, barley, some orange, slight peach, herbs and floral hops. Medium bodied, a moderate carbonation and a smooth texture. A dry, funky, cereal malt finish. It’s ok. Quite malty with the unmistakeable Belgian, dry, yeasty flavour. Smooth and highly drinkable though.

Bottle at home. Nicely cloudy yellow colour, white foamy head that nicely laces the ale. Citrus hoppy, balanced bitterness, creamy malts; reminds me of Taras Boulba by De La Senne. Dry finish, refreshing. Medium body, lively carbonation.

14/VI/15 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: 1/XII/16 (2015-781)

Clear orange beer, huge fizzy aery crackling white head, unstable, bit adhesive, falls down quickly. Aroma: pretty metallic, bit grassy, quite some CO2. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: citrus, yeast, banana, some coriander, spicy, some alcohol. Aftertaste: sweet, metallic, bitter, lots of banana, coriander, yeasty touch, grassy and hoppy finish, with some citrus, alcohol noticeable.

An overall nice blonde beer with a good aroma of malts, hops and a nice bitterness. I personally only hate the coriander after-taste.

Bottle: Cloudy, orange with a fairly tall off-white head. Orange, peach, yeast scent. Taste is sweet, malty, tangerine, yeast. Very fruity and bright, with a slight funkiness.... Tasty.

Alengrin (3368) - BELGIUM - OCT 24, 2014
Strongish blonde ale, tasted from a 75 cl bottle with cork. Thick, light yellowish head, pure orange blonde, near amber colour, clear but hazy with deposit. Vividly fruity aroma strongly reminiscent of fresh orange, pineapple, flowers, ginger, pepper, apple peel, marmelade, mint and something phenolic. Rounded, sweetish palate with fresh citrus effect, appetizing, strong carbo, mild herbal hop bitterness in the end with a whiff of gin-like alcohol. Well-balanced and tasteful.

Bottle. Musty peach/orange, yeast, and light malt aroma. Golden yellow with moderate white head - nice lacing. Funky yeast, apricot barley malt, and light alcohol flavor.
