"Roundness to be enjoyed by the side of an open fire! We wanted to create a more palateful, stronger beer, but without spices, unlike the majority of Christmas beers. The work therefore first of all focused on the selection of the barley malts. We needed a mixture of five different barley malts for obtaining the dark ruby colour and the body that we wanted. Then, we wanted hops that were not too strong, in order to contribute to that typical roundness of winter beers. This is why we have mainly opted for the Slovenian Styrian Golding, not very bitter, but used in great quantity and combined with a little Cascade, for a very fine hopping."

Bottle. Pours reddish brown with a creamy beige head. The aroma is hoppy and dark fruity with light spicy and yeasty notes. Lighter orange notes. The flavor is quite yeasty with nice dark caramel notes and ripe fruit. Alcohol well hidden. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Brun acajou, effervescence faible, col beige tombe vite. Malts caramel légèrement torréfiés, un peu aqueuse, amertume un rien réglissée et petite présence de fruits noirs. Pas vraiment une bière de Noël...

33 cl. bottle sampled @ Kerstbierfestival Essen 2013. Darker amber with a tanned head. Nose is sweet sugar, caramel, sticky malts, sweet coffee & Christmas spices. Sweet herbal taste, touch bitter bark, coffee, candy sugar, sticky malts, touch cake, light hops & cloves. Fuller body. Pretty nice stuff here.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2013 Donkerbruine kleur met een dikkel laag beige schuim. Ruikt nogal zoet, speculaaskruiden. Smaakt bijzonder goed, iets te zoet.

licorish aromas, but also a yeasty aroma. fine darkbrown color but with a shortliving fine head. a great bitter taste, and a fizzy palate that function well with taste and aroma.

Bottle. Pours cloudy dark ruby / copper brown with airy tan head. Dark aroma of malt, caramel and roast with a hintof chocolate. Sweet flavour of caramel malt with sourish notes of coffee beans and a touch of chocolate. Sour-sweet finish. Warm alcohol presence. Low carbonation. Very well balanced and delicious but very far from the style under which it is categorised here.

Beige foamy full lasting head. Dark brown colour. Aroma is malty with dark fruits and light licorice and roasty notes. Flavor is malty too with light fruity (walnut and cherry) tones, ending in a moderately fruity, slightly metallic finish. Medium bodied.
