Dark brown almost black colour with small brown head. Spicy aroma. Very fruity flavour with notes of coffe and dark chocolate, ends up choco-like and little sour. Ends up very tasty and the alcohol are well hidded indeed.

Dark brown, mostly clear with big frothy tan head. Malty dark base, roasty, cereal and nuts. Good amount of hop backup. Tinteling palate that packs a good amount of flavour, both bitter and roasted. Warming ending. Surprising winter beer that?s hop forward yet still works very well as end of the year treat. Awesome! (33cl bottle from De Bierwinkel Leiden)

11.01.13 Ølkonsortiets julekalender. Uts: klar, dyp kobberfarget, rikelig og holdbart beige skum. Duft: fruktig og fyldig, sødme og noe humle. Smak: fyldig og søtlig, noe tørket frukt og god balanse. Deilig ettersmak.

(on bottle)Dark red/brown, steady beige head. Complex aroma of brumbles and fig, along wih strokes of an old tobaccofuniture. Very nive. Allmoste watery, easy drinkable one could say, a bit weak on the alcohol here. The fine carbonation helps the fruity notes to a plesent , allmost port-dry finish giving this saison(?) a few more strings to pla with.

750 ml bottle A hazy dark brown beer with a large, frothy, creamy, mostly lasting off-white head. The aroma is moderately malty, lightly hoppy, lighlty yeasty. There are notes of toasted/roasted grain/bread, caramel, chocolate, flowers, dough, berries, cloves. The flavour is moderately to heavily sweet, lightlly sour, lightly bitter. Medium body, velvety yexture, average/lively carbonation, long finish with medium bitterness, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Very interesting beer, not overly sweet, reasonably complex, and rather warming. Not a Saison, however, in my opinion, more like a normal Belgian Strong Ale. Another good stuff from Cazeau.

A reddish brown head with a thick lacing brown head. In aroma, a smooth licorice malt with light chocolate, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet treacle with dark fruits, molasse, licorice, nicely spiced, roasted moka coffee, nice. Bieropholie import, tasted Sept. 5 2011. BB 02-10.

Bottle. Very deep brown colour with a big brownish head. Aroma and flavour are dominated by roasted malts and a lot of dark fruits (prunes, plums etc.). Dry, medium bitter finish. Great stuff - more people should try this...
