Bottled. Aroma has spice, maltiness, some roast and dark fruits. Hazy, dark coloured beer with a lasting off-white head. The taste is a little sweet, has clove, rye, dark fruits, roast, yeast. Medium bodied. Is this a saison?.

From notes: Poured hazy, opaque reddish-brown with a small tan head. Aromas of cherry, orange, and some yeast. Medium-thick with a nice, full body. Flavor is nutty, with undertones of earthy yeast and sweet orange.

11.2 oz bottle, poured into a snifter. This is probably my first-ever Belgian christmas ale. Clear dark red color. Good thin khaki head. Nice lace. Enjoyable ale that is unique from the plethora of American winter brews, which are often just spice-bombs. This one has more subtle spice, but a nice complex dark fruit belgian -esque aroma that’s hard to describe. Maybe some licorice in there, dark toasty malts. It’s an interesting one to sip. Very dry texture (holds back the drinkability - but, it’s supposed to be a sipper anyway), light soft carbonation. Nice light sweet spiced taste. Definitely a nice, unique winter ale - a breath of fresh air from the sea of all-too-similar American winter brews.
