COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tournay Noire is a beer, refermented in the bottle, with an alcohol content of 7,6%. It contains only natural ingredients: water, four malts, two hops, yeast and sugar. We select special malts and very traditional hops to give it a powerful, long flavour in the mouth and a quite a strong hint of bitterness. This is a beer that will really appeal to Stout lovers!!

(Bottle) Pours dark brown to black with a large nougat coloured head. The aroma well balanced with spicy yeast, grassy/herbal/spicy hops and well-integrated roast. Undertones of earthy and light sweet Christmas spices, liquorice root, menthol and a bit of dirt as the beer gets warmer. I do enjoy the nose, maybe just a bit strange when you dig deeper. The flavour is light sweet (almost dry), light to medium bitter and light acidic. Spicy and roasted Balanced, yet quite flavourful. The mouthfeel is clean and fairly soft with medium carbonation. Elegant and light spicy, noble hops on the finish alongside liquorice and light phenols (smoke). Medium bodied. Underrated.

Bottle. Don’t know if I’m drinking the same stuff as others, but this left me unimpressed. Looks nice enough, pours a blackish brown with a thick tan head that drops quickly but leaves a fair bit of lacing. Aroma is spices, coffee, burnt sugar and - most strikingly - smoke. Mouthfeel is very light with a bit of co2, taste is distinct bitterness up front but short finish. There’s not a lot of malty tones in there and it’s way too light to be labelled a stout in my book. In a way it reminds me of a rauschbier... Odd, this one.

Clearly tangy scent with notes of yeast, spices and sweet malt. Taste is yeast, hops and tinted with a sweet malt base. In the aftertaste there is a slight lingering bitterness. There is a lot more before I call it a stout, but it counts on the other hand, as foreign ....

Pours murky dark brown with chunks like poop water. Nice thick tan head leaves a swath of sticky lacing. Aroma and flavor show raisins, some roasted malt, and tart orange peel. Finishes slightly sweet and bitter.
