COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Objectively … the best stout in the world! Savour it with your dessert - with an ice cream and spéculoos, for example - and close your eyes: it’s like entering a torrefaction workshop … This beer is the favourite of the brewer, who has always adored stout. “But I mean real Stout, not oversweet gassy liquids!”. With an aim of finding a fairly marked coffee after-taste, we have chosen to use the most torrefied barley malt that can be found on the market - Black malt at 1400 EBC. As this malt is a bit acrid, we have “corrected” it by using another slightly caramelized malt (150 EBC), and some brown sugar. So that the hops can exist alongside these strong caramelized and torrefied malt flavours, we have mainly opted for the strong American hop, Tomahawk."

Bottle: Brown syrupy pour, medium to smaller sized beige head on top of a blak colored beer. The aroma’s are typical stout with some strong herbal tones: bay leaf, autumnal herbs, light toasted bark, nail polish remover, some roasted malts, crispy herbal, flowers and sticky toasted malts. Taste bay leaf, light liquorice, good herby, hint of toast, light roasted barley malts, some hay roast, bitters and toasted/loght roasted herbs. Aftertaste is good bitter with toasted malts, spices, Low carbo, sof spicy mouthfeel, good medium body and a light creamy texture. Good beer, fine.

Dark red/black with tan head, more subtle than traditional stouts, aromas of coffee and chocolate but not overpowering, very well balanced, pleasant and refreshing

A close relative of their Tournay de Noël, this is even darker and more roasted and thus qualifies as a stout. Almost black colour, deep beige head; dark fruits, oily mouthfeel, bitter chocolate, yeasty notes, full roasted coffee-like bitterness in the finish, mouth-filling. More than decent.

Bottle. Past the best by date... by two years!!! Oh well it was on sale. Aroma is sweet. Sugar. Boozy. Tobacco. cigar smoke. Looks fine. Off white head. dark dark brown. Taste is like a belgian stout. Sweet. Subtle roastiness. Balanced. Wine like. Palate is smooth. Dry. Medium body. Overall a solid beer. Wouldn’t pay the normal $6 for it but a soild showing.

Bottle. Dark body with low tan head. Aroma has roasty character, lots of coffee and light dark chocolate notes, no toffee at all. Taste has high roasty bitterness with coffee-like after taste, light malty sweetness. Really nice balanced. Body is full, high carbonation. Lovely.

Bottiglia 33cl, comprata da spirito di vino e bevuta a casa. Nera con bella schiuma. Corpo medio, carbonazione un po' elevata. Amara e torrefatta. Non male. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhold

Ik ben al geen fan van Stout-bieren en dit was voor mij echt slecht. Ik heb niet alles kunnen opdrinken

bottle @ John’s Grocery / Iowa City IA --- Opaque black color, brown head that drops to a cover, band of lace. Taste is toasted malt (as is the aroma) that adds toast and light milk chocolate in the palate, moving without need for bittering to a smooth long finish in which the flavors intertwine. Not a big brew, by any means, but very tasty.
