COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Objectively … the best stout in the world! Savour it with your dessert - with an ice cream and spéculoos, for example - and close your eyes: it’s like entering a torrefaction workshop … This beer is the favourite of the brewer, who has always adored stout. “But I mean real Stout, not oversweet gassy liquids!”. With an aim of finding a fairly marked coffee after-taste, we have chosen to use the most torrefied barley malt that can be found on the market - Black malt at 1400 EBC. As this malt is a bit acrid, we have “corrected” it by using another slightly caramelized malt (150 EBC), and some brown sugar. So that the hops can exist alongside these strong caramelized and torrefied malt flavours, we have mainly opted for the strong American hop, Tomahawk."

Bottle. Puors very dark brown, small head short lived. Aroma and taste is roasted, licorice, chocolate , some coffe and fruit from the yeast. To yeasty for a stout, but a ok brew.

BeerViking (3808) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 31, 2016
Bottle from Belgibeer, pours dark red-brown with a fluffy head, red fruit and roasty nose, dry-sweet and lightly fruity, slightly ashy with dark dried fruit in the finish. Like a Schwarzbier /Stout hybrid.

33cl bottle at home. Very dark brown, big beige foamy head. Roasted malty tones dominate with dark chocolate and coffee, dark red fruits (berries), grainy, bitter finish. Medium body and carbonation, (too) smooth mouthfeel. Decent stout.

pivnizub (9861) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - MAR 16, 2016
Butilka(750ml): Very deep amber coloured, loose but stable tanned head; sourish-sweetish nose, coffee, dried fruits and a certain mineralic touch detectable; moderate bitter-sweet and sourish flavour, soft and medium bodied; lingering fruity and coffeish finish, toasted dark malt is detectable as expected. Surely not bad, but all in all a bit disappointing…

Een flesje 2 jaar na einde houdbaarheidsdatum. Zwart bier met beige schuimkraag. Geur: gebrande mout. Smaak:. Een mooi en lekker huwelijk van aangename moutbitterheid en hopbitterheid. Man, man, en dit voor een ouder bier! Voldoende koolzuur. Afdronk: zoetig – bitter.

Ulysse (398) - Brussels, BELGIUM - JAN 9, 2016
Medium to low roasting aroma. Light brown head looking like a galaxy made of large bubbles in a space made of tightly knit micro bubbles. But the space adventure is short lived. Well-balanced stout. No exotic flavours just the good ol’ roasted malt.
