The real deal and the best beer of the whole trip. Smooth and dark chocolate, roasty but with a sweetish fruity background. Full and mouth filling, an absolute belter. The additional alcohol just peeked out from behind the malts. Liked it lots. crhensel (30), New Jersey, USA

Poured like most stouts with a strong black color and finger and a half foamy light brown head. The nose was reminiscent of many other Belgians, with the sweetness prevailing. The malts were well toasted and there were hints of both molasses and chocolate present. Taking a taste had these same flavors come through along with a light hint of coffee that provided a very pleasant aftertaste. A great find! LordCorkscrew (991), Ronco Scrivia (GE), Italy

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 31, 2009 Bottle Labeled Tournay Black Belgian Stout 7.6%, can you tell im not sure i’m posting in the right place. Pours a black body with a tan fluffy 3 finger head. Licorice, light spices, coffee bitterness and some roasted malt. Sweet body with a chocolate like feel, and moderate carbonation that kinda stings the tongue. Dry roasty finish with a touch of cane sugar. I would have liked this more if it wasn’t for the high carbonation. Chewy creamy with a sediment like bite to it. I liked it. zathrus13 (1321), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA
