"Tournay Triple is seductively strong … Triple beers traditionally contain more malt, and are therefore stronger. But the original idea behind Tournay Triple was to produce a very hopped beer rather than a strong one. When creating all our beers, we want to preserve a balance between the tastes and to ensure that each ingredient can be expressed without crushing the others. To respond to the bitterness of the hops, we therefore had to brew a solidly-built beer, whence the choice of a high alcohol content (more than 9% ABV). Although we had quickly succumbed to the very particular flavours of the New Zealand hop, Nelson Sauvin, many tests were necessary to find the right marriage with other hops, including the English Fuggles, and Cascade, which is the hallmark of all our beers except for Saison. The perfecting of our Triple was therefore a labour of Hercules but it was well worth the trouble!"

Blonde paille, très peu de carbo, collet très fin. Aromes légèrement fruité, levuré. Des l’attaque l’amertume se fait sentir et tient longtemps.

Malty, alcohol, spices, banana bread. Sharp spicy taste. Different than the hopped classics I know and adore, but interesting enough and well made too. (Bottle at Berthom Tours)

The aroma was clearly about hop (I hadn’t see the little IPA tag on the bottle), so good start. The taste is a mix of triple, for the main body, and hoppy beer for the bitterness as the aftertaste. Great beer, but can be hard to finish a big bottle. 9 degree of alcohol, you don’t taste it, but it still can hit hard.

Fresh hoppy aroma. Head sticks to the glass. Well balanced bitterness on the soft end but still rather present in the mouth.

Kindly shared by Jaghana. Couleur orangée trouble, très légère mousse. Nez levuré avec citron/orange genre saison. Gout fruité jaune sucré avec agrumes puis bonne amertume en fin de bouche. Corps onctueux. Fin fruits sucrés et amertume. Pas mal

Bottle 33cl kindly brought by Laetitia. A cloudy copper beer with huge head and good retention. Nose is on belgian yeast and astringent like. Aroma is sweet with orange and lemon notes, astringency, quite bitter, grassy hops, grapefruit notes, light berries. Good bitterness at the finish.

Bottle purchased from Champanes, the bottle started to bubble up when the cap was popped, this tripel had a dark orange-burnt orange pour, the glass had a some haze and a few particles twirling around, the pour and made a large foamy, white head that pretty much filled the glass, the volume of bubbles receded to a thick cover leaving lots of sticky lacing on the sides of the glass, aromas of cake dough, light malt, bread, yeast, light pear fruit, some floral scents with spice and honey sweetness, the nose started with a little sweetness and had a good dose of cake dough and became sweeter with notes of honey as it warmed up, there were flavors of bread malt, dough, some spice and mild earth flowers, light fruit and honey sweetness, the finish had a light gentle hop bitterness with some spice, and fruit citrus to dry the palate a bit, this drink was light on the mouth, it felt creamy and had lively carbonation (with no carb bite), this drink was sweeter on the nose and taste buds than your typical tripel beer but I still enjoyed the drink.

In bottiglia. Gushing spinto, molto gasata. Colore giallo tendente all’arancio, molto velata. AL naso sentori di lievito, frutta gialla, banana, mela. Al palato corpo rotondo, ancora troppe bollicine, mela, banana, troppo lievito che da fastidio. Finale secco e dolce

The beer is hazy dark yellow with a half inch of soapy white head. The aroma brings yeast, malt, light spice, floral notes. The flavor brings a touch of banana, grain. Really dry finish with some hop bitterness. Earthy and a bit abrasive. Kind of rough. This is ok.
