COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Tournay Triple is seductively strong … Triple beers traditionally contain more malt, and are therefore stronger. But the original idea behind Tournay Triple was to produce a very hopped beer rather than a strong one. When creating all our beers, we want to preserve a balance between the tastes and to ensure that each ingredient can be expressed without crushing the others. To respond to the bitterness of the hops, we therefore had to brew a solidly-built beer, whence the choice of a high alcohol content (more than 9% ABV). Although we had quickly succumbed to the very particular flavours of the New Zealand hop, Nelson Sauvin, many tests were necessary to find the right marriage with other hops, including the English Fuggles, and Cascade, which is the hallmark of all our beers except for Saison. The perfecting of our Triple was therefore a labour of Hercules but it was well worth the trouble!"

Bottled@fonefan. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is a bit dull in it’s earthiness, but also has some floral and wooden notes to it. Flavour is fruity, floral, some gluelike sweetness as well as some slight yeasty notes.

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2015 (Bottled, 0.75l) Hazy amber with a medium, foamy head. Aroma is earthy and slightly stingy with a cow-dung feel and alcohol notes. Flavor is caramely-malty, peachy-tropical-fruity, slightly ashy and cat-pee-stingy, quite bitter and harsh. Medium body, quite carbonated, slightly thin and alcoholic, stingy palate. There’s very little in this that my mouth would like, especially when warmed up a bit. Much more tolerable with yeast. 4635

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours hazy orange, thick white head, frothing over, very high carbonation. Aromas of oranges and spice. Taste is more spice, sweet citrus, slight booze hit. Thin texture, more heat. Clean finish though.

Bottle, 75cl. An unclear, orange-colored beer with a small, dense, off-white head. The aroma has some notes of higher alcohol, with white sugar, a generic fruityness, some herbal hints and a good dash of peaches. It’s full-bodied and warming on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level and warmth. White sugar, peaches, some pine cones and herbs. Lasting finish. Quite nice, but a bit too warming. 150228

Bottle at Carnival Tasting in Ulfborg 2015-02-28. Clear golden beer with a nice offwhite head. Hoppy fruity aroma, yeasty notes, caramel, a bit spicy, citrus and grapefruit. Hoppy yeasty flavor, grassy, hay notes, sourish, some yeast.

Heller, rund alkoholischer Antrunk. Hellmalzig, nur wenig süß, im Zaun gehalten durch trockene Noten. Erfrischend spritzig, gut! 10/11/11/11/7/11

330ml bottle from Beer Me Up Scotty, Shrewsbury Market Hall. Pours with an exuberant bubbly head, a bit too much carbonation perhaps. Aroma is grassy, sweet and sugary. Taste is rather muddled, spicy, zesty, bready and lightly bitter. Not sure what to make of this one, certainly not one to return to in the future.

Robe or. Nez superbe de houblon frais, de levure, de fruits blancs. Bouche d’une superbe buvabilité, la bulle est fraîche, l’amertume superbe et la longueur impressionnante. Accord royal avec la choucroute.
