3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 larsga (4661) - Oslo, - JAN 16, 2006
Smallish, tan, creamy lasting head with large bubbles. Dark brown body. Faint, sweet aroma of cinnamon. Deep, sweet taste of roasty caramel malts with fruity notes, quite bitter aftertaste. Cinnamon-like bitterness lingers. Off flavours linger in the form of metallic bitterness. On tap 2006-01-16, served way too cold. (Surely this can’t be retired?)
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 Palme (1437) - Bergen, NORWAY - APR 20, 2012
On tap @ Patricks, Kristiansand. Well now, a Norwegian previously retired bayer? This is a clear copper beer with a small thin just off-white head. The aroma has tones of both caramel, ripe fruits and candy. Not to horrible actually. The flavor on this one is not extreme in any way. Hints of thin butter, caramel and again some fruity-ripe candy-thingy. It’s actually a bit tasty. It has a average+ carbonation level with a somewhat thin and watery mouthfeel. Easy to drink and it actually has some flavor. A bit sweet and quite low on the bitterness if anything. 30.03.2012
