3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Cunningham (3039) - Halden, NORWAY - AUG 12, 2012
Dark amber colour, with a small tan head. Fruity, and some caramel in the aroma. An unusual tasty and well blended norweigan grocery store Christmas beer. Fruity, with a fine moderate sweet caramelmalt background. Goes very fine on a sunny summer day, together with some fresh cod and dutch cheese. Nice and mild texture. [Bottle from Coop Prix in Halden, Norway]
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Zoney (144) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - NOV 28, 2010
Bottle. Pours amber with a off-white head. Taste is malty with a more dark taste lurking in the background. One of the better norwegian christimas beer that you can get at any grocery store this season. Could have a little more body, but a very nice beer all in all.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Beer3000 (3765) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 16, 2007
UPDATED: MAR 28, 2011 330 ml bottle, sampled one year after best before date. This is a re-rate of a fresh version with lower score. Clear amber body with a big, dense off-white head that disappears. Aroma of light roasted malt, dark caramel, nuts and slightly oxidation. Flavor is sweet, light roasted malt, light burnt caramel, brown sugar, dry fruit and moderate bitterness. Just a hint of oxidation suits this beer quite well. Not a very great beer, but decent as a grocery store alternative to christmas beer, and actually best past the expiration date.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 KnutAlbert (5211) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 12, 2006
Surprisingly good. Brown sugar, but not cloyingly sweet, full taste and not as watery as these 4.5 juleøl tend to be. More for sipping than for drinking with food.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 larsga (5364) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 7, 2006
Biggish coarse offwhite head shrinks quickly. Red body. Light roasty, harmonic aroma with notes of peas and faint sweetness. Taste is very similar, a mix of roastiness, peas and a light bitterness. Watery aftertaste. The roasty bitterness lingers. A decent Christmas beer. (0.33l bottle.)
