Mørk brun med farvet skum. Aroma av mørkt malt med kaffe. God sødme og lett friskhet, men tydelig alkoholpreg i munnen. Også litt enkel. (Havnabakken, 26.11.13)

330ml bottle from a trade with Cunningham, huge thanx maaaan!!!
Bottle shows 6,5% alc instead of 7%. Pours blackish ruby red with flat coapy head. Smells very stoutish, roasty-malty with lots of coffee and toffee. Starts with bitter roasted malts, lots of burnt toffee and coffee, also some sweet caramel malts in the background. The middle part has more sweet caramel malts, also paired with delicious burnt malts and some roasted bitter coffee. Goes into a bitter-roasty malty finish with lots of burnt notes and coffee. Really great stout-like Juleøl

Cunningham (4426) - Halden, NORWAY - JAN 4, 2013

Appearance: Dark brown colour with a tan head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Deep caramel and some roasted malt. Also light fruity.
Palate: Medium body. Nice balanced sweetness and an ok mild bitterness.
Flavor: Balanced deep dark caramel malt. Light fruity. A bit roasted and slightly hoppy.
Overall impression: I usually do not buy these standard dunkler bock that the Norwegian macro breweries name Jule øl (Christmas beer) anymore. But at a party at Borg Brewery they where all free. So I used the chance to taste all they had. This was absolutely a nice surprise. I probably buy this one again.
Location: Bottle at Svaleskiva - Borg Bryggerier Sarpsborg in Sarpsborg, Norway

Bottle from Trond in Oslo. My favourite of the Jule beers this year. Red amber brown body with medium head. Nose of malts, cinnamon, caramel and sweet. Taste malty, caramel too. Gets bitter and hoppier in the finish. Has a nice kick to it. Well done.
