COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Estil cerveser: CHRISTMAS ALE.

Maltes: pale ale, àmbar, chocolat, cafè, crystal i caramalt. Cereals: ordi torrat. Flor dels llúpols: challenger, east kent goldings, northern brewer i celeia. Espècia: anís estrellat.

Temperatura de consum: entre 6º i 10ºC.
Formerly CCM HivernALE.

In the 0.5 mL green bottle. 2009 vintage. Pours a murky dark brown with a medium, big bubbled effervescent head that produces floating discoids of foam. PDQ cocoa powder aroma. Tart at first, some toasted caramel and then a substantial chocolate finish. Perhaps a small splash of cherry, but I’m not getting any spices or certainly "blood oranges" at all. I can see where this beer would fill the role of a Winter Warmer in a place where it never snows.

Dark brown in colour but with an almost pure white head. Earthy, spicy aroma. Deep caramel, dark malt, with an overall aniseed flavour. Ok, but nothing more.

Brown colour with a beige head with good lasting and moderate lacework. Aroma has notes of toasted malts, light caramel and spices. Flavor is toasty with lots of spices, mainly rosemary and anise, some fruit in syrup notes. The final is spiced with toasted hints.

330ml Bottle - Copper with a slight haze. Spicy, fruity and malty aroma with notes of raisins, caramel and aniseed. Malty, fruity and slightly metallic taste with notes of caramel, fruitcake, cinnamon and aniseed. Perfectly drinkable and fairly enjoyable, although I was expecting a bit more body for a beer of this strength.

First sent from Hayduke but the bottle exploded while in storage. He then brought one and we had it together. This was a dark brown pour and was opaque. A nice beige head. The nose was cinnamon and spices. We didn’t have it in ideal holiday ale weather. It brought some nice spiced flavors and especially cinnamon. An impressive malt base that included toffee. The spices made this one, though.

This was a joint tasting at Dave Duncan’s place in Wood River. Dark amber pour with off white head. Nose of sweet caramel malts. Some spices show. Medium body and smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is rich with lot of holiday spices.

Acceptable.
