On tap at the brewpub. This is not retired. Simply the brewpub changed its name to Third Base Bar & Brewery. Same brewer, same beer, same recipe. Pours clear yellow (where’s the hefe part of the hefeweizen?!?) with a razor-thin white head. I do get a chemical estery aroma, but not anything reminescent of the banana or cloves of a true hefe. Like the other beer served here, this is simply too watery. Odd chemical aftertaste remains.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear golden color with thin white head. No lace. Estery nose full of bubblegum and banana. Flavor is similar with lots of bubblegum , less banana, and minimal clove. Unfortunately there was also an annoying rubbery leather flavor. It kind of tasted like the inside of a vintage leather Nike shoe with rubber soles smells. Slightly sweet. Too bad about the shoe taste.
