On tap at the brewpub. It was nice to actually get a beer I enjoyed. The body was black with garnet colored edges. This had a creamy khaki colored head on top. The aroma was coffee with a little bit of toffee. The taste was toasted peanuts with some chocolate and coffee. The roasted character got stronger as I drank more. This had a very thin body.

Draught at the brewpub. Black, nearly opaque, with a little brown around the edges. Thin tan head without any lace. Not much aroma other than subdued roasted malt. Dry on the tongue, again with a light roasty flavor reminiscent of coffee. There is also a slightly bitter roasty finish. Overall opinion is similar to that of schwarzbiers in general....Eh.
