COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gather ‘round all ye young ‘uns, all ye boozers and freaks, let me tell you the story of one Scruffy McGee. T’was an alt-brewin’ fella, a real sun of a gun, but he whips up the finest alts under the sun. Smoked to perfection, a real powerful blend. S’what made his name a Cedar Creek legend. But drink this in scruples, ye lads and ye lasses, or, like Scruffy, you’ll fall down drunk, right on your asses.”

Can. Pours a hazy brown-gold with a high, pillowy, lacy off-white head. Nose is smoke, lemon, and bready notes -- there’s a little light rye in there, too. Sweet and smoky up front; the smoke has both a savory and an ashy note to it. There’s a definite charcuterie or barbecue thing going on, along with bitterness further back on the tongue. Finish turns completely dry and ashy with a terse smokiness to it, though there’s a faint malty echo. Interesting.

Smell of nice smoke. Appearance is brown with thin off white head. Taste is smoke grain which finishes too quick, I wish it had a little more but pretty solid for a smoked style.

5/30/2014. 16 oz can. Copper color with an offwhite head. Malty aromas with caramel, light fruit and hints of bacon/smoke. Sweet malty flavors with smoke really picking up on the finish. Nice balance and not too overwhelming.

Had on draft. Pours a clear golden color with white head. Smoke, bread, and a little malt on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a very smoky note that lingers.

Can @ America Strikes Back, Ulfborg. Pours clear amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of smoked meat, butter and malt. Bitter, roasty flavour, with smoky notes and touches of malt. Sweetish and rough aftertaste. OK but more intersting than good.

Pours opague dark amber.. smoky flavor for sure that hits you first and really stands out.. Like a bbq in your mouth. Unfiltered look. Not bad for drinking while eating bbq chicken. Not bad taste wise other than unexpected smoky flavor strength. This is smokier than expected.
