3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can thanks to angrypirate06. Pours with a clear copper hued body with a very large and fizzy off-white head. Aromas are of moderate smoke, light chocolate, toasted, caramel, mild fruit esters (plum, raisin). Slightly herbal. Flavors are smokey and a touch roasty, caramel, herbal. Malt forward.
Very high carbonation (well too high), carbonic. Moderate body. Easy to drink.

4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Drank the first one while coming home and have to say it stands up to the name. Very smokey aroma and flavor. The aroma made me want to have this while waiting for a brisket to finish off. So I did just that. When kicked back having a few of these with a brisket setting in a smoker full of mesquite this brew was perfect. So while it may not be for every occasion it is one for cooking outdoors or just playing around with fire.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can:   Lighter smoked example, a little of that bready malts for an alt, but also a very slight tinge of tartness that I wasn’t expecting or I think belongs.   Soft nose, soft on the tongue, a lighter example.   Didn’t expect the tartness.   Nice amber color, a little bit of lacing.   Soft example, decent.   Thanks Bill!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Orange-tan with a monster head that slowly dropped down and left nice sticky clumps of lacing.
Aroma has a fairly smoky start, with a good maltiness expected from an altbier, perhaps some barbeque when you’ve got a beercan chicken and bacon wrapped jalapenos going on a crisp fall day, and... this might sound strange, but I’m getting a touch of root beer too. .
Flavor is more pronounced on the smoke, but doesn’t totally diverge from the altbier profile. A touch of nuttiness and some pleasant maltiness cling to the base beer underneath the smokiness.
As I drink it, I find the body a tad thinner and quite a bit more carbonated than what’s probably optimal for this beer. New formulations should adjust and improve on the body.
Overall tho, it’s an enjoyable beer which I’m happy to say, I have three more tall-boys of in the fridge. I’ll try more cedar creek beers.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: NOV 28, 2013 Excellent smoked beer, pours a foggy brown with massive thick creamy head that slowly dissipates leaving heavy lacing. Smells of smoke and maltiness and tastes of smoke, nuttiness and pepper. Leaves you with the perfect smokey bitter aftertaste that makes me crave a peppery piece of beef. This beer is Texas as shit!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This brew is a murky reddish-brown color with a thin off-white head that diminishes quickly to a wispy film. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and smoked meats. Light-bodied with a smoky character and flavors of charred malt and earthy hops. The finish is smoky with malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20
The smoky aroma translates to BACON! Hummmm, a good start. Pours a murky, yet luminous, when held to the light, copper with a rapidly dissipating white head and no lacing. The flavor is smoked bacon followed with notes of malt sweetness and bread. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Overall, a "Goldy Locks’" brew - not over the top in any flavor direction. Just right on all fronts. Well done Cedar Creek!
