Had a pint at the winery. Golden copper, nice smooth uniform white head. Smells like toasty malts and grassy hops. Flavor is pretty simple, but balanced. I get some cracker, some black pepper, and a subtle hop finish.

Personally I prefer Biltmore’s wines, but Cedric’s Pale was surprisingly good. Not too bitter, which is often the case with craft brews.

Overall a good, drinkable, pleasant, unassuming beer that is worth the money to drink more of. Pretty simple.

$5.00 pint at Cedric’s Tavern at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina.
Appearance: Faintly hazed, copper-gold body with a sustained coating of near white foam.
Smell: Aroma of pale malts yielding a basic, bready barley character along with hop hints of florals and seed-popping lemon wedges.
Taste: Simple taste of pale malts accented with sweetish traces of honey and a light, underlying breadiness. Hint of fruitiness. Touch of dried lemon peel and some soft florals preclude a medium-light bitterness, though it’s sufficient enough to balance the initial sweetness and pave the way for a dry finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A competent, food-friendly pale ale, though I admit to only pairing it with the lone pint of Cedric’s Brown I had prior.
