olek (20), København N, Denmark Apr 9, 2006 Updated: Dec 25, 2006On draft at Den Tatoverede Enke, Copenhagen. A nice and spice wit with lots of coriander. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a big white head, that disappears quickly. Taste is citrus and a lot of coriander. chriso (4680), London, Greater London, England Mar 25, 2006 Draught at Den Tatoverede Enke, RBESG Pub Crawl, August 2005. Hazy yellow colour, as expected. Odd aroma. I picked up some sweaty socks as well the usual spicy wheat. Also noted some diacetyl. Which is odd as, looking at others ratings at the same time, nobody else seems to have picked that up. Frankly I thought there was something wrong with it. Or perhaps after the excesses of the RBESG tasting the night before something strange had happened to my tastebuds. Anyway, o the day, I wasn’t impressed at all.
harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Mar 11, 2006 Bottle from Dorstvlegel, Antwerp. Cloudy green gold colour with thin white head. Slightly sour, lemon, herb, sour/stale aroma. Better in mouth though. In fact wonderful in mouth and finish. Mouth feel is astonishing, lemon and spice are stunning. Fun beer and puts a smile on your face. smcd (366), USA Mar 8, 2006 A drinkable, but ultimately unremarkable witbier. Notes of orange and spice on the nose and in the beer. Your standard wit. dolemike1 (1116), Jeannette, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 7, 2006 Poured a light cloudy yellow with a big white head, light aroma of citrus and sourness, flavor is light, hint of citrus, very little spice, slightly watery. Not as good as the other Celis whites. bobaidan (358), Farmington, Connecticut, USA Mar 2, 2006 Pours very very light with a big white head. Aroma is very fruity with a strong corriander presence. Mouthfeel is thin, but bubbly. Flavors are fruity and smooth. A very good beer for a hot summer day. Way too easy to keep on drinking them. larsga (2937), Oslo, Norway Feb 5, 2006 Thin white head, hazy yellow body. Powerful, dense spicy lemon aroma. Thin, watery oregano yeasty taste. Watery aftertaste. Well. Give me a Hoegaarden instead! beerbill (1918), Laurel, New York, USA Feb 1, 2006 Bottle. Pours a hazy, straw yellow color with a foamy white head that disappeared somewhat quickly. Sweet and sour notes in the aroma, which also come through in the flavor. Not sure what to make of this beer. One mouthful I like it, the next I don’t. I have to agree with some of the other reviewers that the Celis White from Texas was much better.
