Dixen (1465), Flagstaff, Arizona, USA Jul 29, 2005 Spicy nose, cloyingly sweet and yeasty. Hazy yellow body, small white head. Yeasty flavor, quite sourish. joergen (8430), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 27, 2005 Updated: Oct 26, 2005Bottled as Gensch Mannekes Pies.
Yellow coloured with a small white head.
Acidic aroma of lactic acid and fruits.
Acidic flavour of corn and fruits.
Boring. TBone (6675), Pori, Finland Jul 25, 2005 Draught as Celis White
Pale lemon yellow, small creamy white head. Yeasty, wheat aroma. Also in the flavor sweetish yeast dominates. Medium-bodied. Crisp, uninteresting "bulk" witbier. Sten (288), Westerlo, Belgium Jul 15, 2005 Updated: Aug 21, 2005A beer with almost no body. A citrus-like flavour, but there are better Belgian white beers available. This is indeed a very quenching beer. (Bottle 25cl) Otje (668), Leiden, Netherlands Jul 15, 2005 labeled as "celis white". fruity witbier with lots of spices. lightyellow hazy beer(see picture). fresh citrus taste with koriander and other spices(meaty?). full all rounded palate, light bodied. i remember Hoegaarden wit used to be like this years ago. very nice! schuimkroaat (391), Leuven, Belgium Jun 30, 2005 What a mess. RateBeer says ’Ertvelds Wit’. The label says ’Gensch Mannekes Pies’. And if you peel it off, there’s another label underneath which says ’Celis White’. Ahm... 25 cl bottle, bottled/bbe? Very pale, straw coloured, little sparkle, weak head leaving fine lace. Spiced aroma, citrus peel, but also some a bit weird spiciness which is also present in de Witte Lambiek of Timmermans; there’s malt in the nose, too. Lemony and sourish flavour with a gentle hop finish. Thin palate. KAggie97 (2406), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Jun 17, 2005 Too bad Celis left Texas... Pours a rich, cloudy gold. Hints of orange and lemon in the nose, and the taste is an extension, with a smidgen of malt thrown in. Mouthfeel is lush, and seems to coat the mouth. A very enjoyable beer. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 3, 2005 Updated: Feb 27, 2006(Bottle 25 cl) Paleish yellow, with a very white, rather small head. Nice citrusy touches and a soft tartness. But nice and rounded with lots of flavours. Almost no body and no bitternes either. But quenching indeed. 181096
