BillKismet (1899), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 6, 2008 Was called Ervelds Wit at The Dray in Seattle. Appealing cloudy straw color with fantastic Belgian lacing. One of the better looking Witts. Profusion of wheat and coriander smells, quite piquant. Quenching and flavored with wheat and coriander with some banana notes rounding out the medley nicely. A bit flat in flavor, but a better than average Witt just the same. NosirIwont (1162), Aalborg Vestby, Denmark Aug 4, 2008 Bottle. As ‘Gensch Manneken Pies’. Pours a hazy pale yellow with a white head. Sweet, dusty, fruity aroma with a creamy tartness. Flavour is lots of coriander with citrus hops hidden behind it at first. As it warms, the coriander becomes less dominant, which is good, because it was a bit too much at first imo, and notes of wheat comes out. The finish reveals the citrus hops more as well as a mild bitterness with a liquorice feel to it. An okay and quite refreshing beer, although nothing special. 04-08-08. BoBoChamp (1334), Gent, Belgium Jul 20, 2008 25cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, very easy to drink Belgian White, not complex, cloudy, good head, nothing special shrubber85 (2833), Wallhalben, Germany Jul 12, 2008 Bottle. Sour milk, lemon and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy orange-yellow color with minimal head. Sour milk, lemon and wheat malt flavor. Thought this might have been old but had a best before date of 28Jan09. Compared to Hoegaarden, Texas Celis and Michigan Celis, this one was the weakest, but still not bad. Acknud (770), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA Jul 8, 2008 Clear yellow pour with a frothy head. Aroma of spices and citrus. Heavy wheat taste with a citrus note. Not a bad beer. chilangoglobal (97), Wagerningen, Netherlands Jun 28, 2008 It looks like a white beer, and smells like that, but taste is far away to get it. Is a wheat beer I can said but I’m not happy with this as a white one. Appearance is good, the image of a white with frothy head make them a good mimick. Wim (1278), Turnhout, Belgium Jun 20, 2008 cloudy yellow coloured body with a white head a citrus spicy aroma a spicy citrus fruity taste with a fruity little bitter finish Jonte (801), Gothenburg, Sweden Jun 14, 2008 On-tap. Cloudy yellow color with a white head. A bit acidic/sourish taste with notes of citrus, lightly spiciness, paper, white wine and grain.
