I’m assuming this is going to end up my highest rated wit. It sure was a beauty, and held up well back-to-back with JP’s offering. Superbly handsome body, cloudy straw yellow with a nice lively carbonation and a decent, solid head. What I like about this one is that it’s anything but a by the numbers wit. No fooling around with generic orange peel, coriander, blah blah blah. No this one is crisp, a bit sour, and a bit earthy with yeasty notes all over the place. Very well done. Appealing cloudy straw color with fantastic Belgian lacing. One of the better looking Witts. Profusion of wheat and coriander smells, quite piquant. Quenching and flavored with wheat and coriander with some banana notes rounding out the medley nicely. A bit flat in flavor, but a better than average Witt just the same. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 4, 2008 Bottle. As ‘Gensch Manneken Pies’. Pours a hazy pale yellow with a white head. Sweet, dusty, fruity aroma with a creamy tartness. Flavour is lots of coriander with citrus hops hidden behind it at first. As it warms, the coriander becomes less dominant, which is good, because it was a bit too much at first imo, and notes of wheat comes out. The finish reveals the citrus hops more as well as a mild bitterness with a liquorice feel to it. An okay and quite refreshing beer, although nothing special. 04-08-08. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 12, 2008 Bottle. Sour milk, lemon and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy orange-yellow color with minimal head. Sour milk, lemon and wheat malt flavor. Thought this might have been old but had a best before date of 28Jan09. Compared to Hoegaarden, Texas Celis and Michigan Celis, this one was the weakest, but still not bad. Acknud (772), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jun 28, 2008 It looks like a white beer, and smells like that, but taste is far away to get it. Is a wheat beer I can said but I’m not happy with this as a white one. Appearance is good, the image of a white with frothy head make them a good mimick.
